Installation and Configuration of P6 EPPM Client 15.2.

My Infrastructure:

1.

My P6 EPPM DB and Applications are running in 64 bit Oracle Linux VM.

2. I am going to install P6 EPPM Clinet in 64 bit Windows 7.

Note:

1.

Dont install the DB Client and P6 Client in C:\Program Files (x86) if it is a 64 bit OS.

Installation of DB Clinet:

Configuration of DB Clinet:

Go to All Programs -> Oracle OraClient11g_home5 -> Configuration and Migration Tools ->Net Manager.

Select Service Naming and on Left top corner click + to start with configuration.

Click Test

Click Change Login

Click Close.

Click Finish.

Go to command prompt and verify the path, tnsping and so on as shown below.

tnsping pmdb

Note: I have created PMDB as a service name.

If it got failed as shown above, follow the below steps.

Go to the location as shown below and check whether you have tnsnames.ora file. Since it is not

there it is throwing that exception.

Copy the tnsmanes.ora file (either from your server or it would have created in

D:\DB_CLIENT_INSTALL_N) to D:\DB_CLIENT_INSTALL_N\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin

folder.

Now do tnsping.

Try connecting with your schema user and PMDB configuration

Set the environment variable.

ORACLE_HOME = D:\DB_CLIENT_INSTALL_N\product\11.2.0\client_1

Install P6 Client.

Unzip V7775201.zip

Go to the below path and run p6pro.msi

Select Advanced.

I have disabled the complete Visualizer and Tools for P6 Professional Database.

Enabled P6 professional and I selected only English.

Select the directory where you want to get installed.

Connection string is not DB SID. It is the one which you created as Service name in your DB client.

Click Finish.

Select PMDB

Login with your username and password.
