THE ORIGINS OF PIMA

PIMA, or glossypium barbadense, as it is officially known, is highly valued luxury cotton that is primarily grown in the southern states of America. The name PIMA is a reflection of Liverpool’s strong links with the cotton industry, originally forged in the eighteenth century when cotton started to arrive via the River Mersey. Many Liverpudlians, including Holts and Rathbones, went to make their name in the cotton trade and popular myth states that cotton bales were used in the foundations of the Liver Building. Even today, the world’s leading cotton trade association is based in the city. In PIMA bar we revel in this affiliation and are proud to offer you a selection of the southern states’ finest liquors, supported with some of England’s most luxurious spirits and delivered to you with our legendary Liverpudlian hospitality.

WHITLEY NEILL is slightly softer than more traditional gins and very smooth with rich juniper, citrus,

potpourri and exotic spices.

The finish is a long one with a subtle fade of herbs, cocoa and candied lemon peels, while the nose is

both citrussy sweet and peppery, with a distinctive floral aroma.
