CREATE YOUR STYLE with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Inspiration Book Africa: Totem Key Ring

STEP 1: Draw the pattern shown in the illustration in step 1 onto a sheet of paper or print out the illustration to get the pattern.

STEP 2: Cut 100 cm of the 0.8 mm wire and bend the wire into the shape of pattern starting at the neck.

STEP 3: Twist the wire around the body as you see in the fi rst picture in this step, and then continue bending the shape to the starting point. At starting point wind the wire around the neck and cut the access off with side cutters.

STEP 4: Make sure that the “head” is big enough, so that the 5328 10 mm bead fi ts in.

STEP 5: Cut 170 cm from the 0.6 mm wire and wrap it around bended shape as you see in illustration. Slide on the fi rst Swarovski Bead 5328 in Jet and wrap the wire around thicker wire on opposite side. Working from the back, slide on 2 Swarovski Beads 5328 in White Alabaster. Repeat this step for whole body as you see in illustration.

STEP 6: Take the upper wire end and fi ll the left arm with Swarovski Beads as you see in illustration. Use the same technique as in step 5. When you have fi nished cut off wire ends with side cutters.

STEP 7: Cut 30 cm from the 0.6 mm wire and wrap it around the end of the body. Fill the legs with both wire ends, using the same method as in step 5. Cut off wire ends as you see in illustration.

STEP 8: Cut 60 cm from the 0.6 mm wire and bend two loops with round nose pliers. Open the Jump ring sideways with fl at nose pliers and hang it into the two loops. Then close it again with Flat nose pliers.

STEP 9: Take the Swarovski Beads 5328, 10 mm in sapphire and pass the two ends of the looped wire through as you see in illustration. Fix the bead in the head by wrapping both wire ends around the neck and fi ll the right arm in the same way as in step 6. Cut off both wire ends at the end.

STEP 10: Take the piece of leather and cut out the shape that is in the illustration.

STEP 11: Place the leather in the smaller key ring and fold back the end and glue it to the inside (see illustration).

STEP 12: Glue 9 Swarovski Sew-on Stones 3255 onto the leather piece as you see in illustration.

STEP 13: Cut a piece of 0.25 mm nylon thread and melt the end of a nylon thread to a small ball with the lighter. Slide a Swarovski Bead 5328 on and go through fi rst hole of fi rst Sew-on Stone (see illustration). Sew through to the back side through 2nd hole of Sew-on Stone and slide on the next bead. Cut off the thread after a few cm and melt the end to a ball directly after the bead. Repeat this step 8 times.

STEP 14: Slide the big key ring onto open end of leather piece and glue the leather onto the inside of back side as shown in the illustration.

STEP 15: Open the jump ring and close it over the small key ring.
