Canadian brothers, Ben and Joe Weider, founded the IFBB in 1946. Joe became a publisher and trainer of the champions, while his brother Ben made the IFBB a worldwide sports organization. We are proud to keep up Ben Weider legacy by organizing a new competition concept under his name. Ben Weider Legacy Cup has been created by the IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja. Ben Weider Legacy Cup will provide bodybuilding, body fitness, bikini fitness and men’s physique competitions, and classic bodybuilding. For the first time ever, The Ben Weider Legacy Cup will be held Edmonton, Canada on September 10th. The competition is open for Amateur Competitors from across North America. All overall winners in the open classes will receive their Pro Cards except classic bodybuilding and women’s physique.

Edmonton is the capital city of Alberta and is well known for its scenic river valley and a thriving music and art community. Located 294 km (183 mi) north of Calgary, Edmonton is home to North America’s largest shopping and entertainment complex, West Edmonton Mall.

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

Bus and taxi service will be available for use to transport to/from venue & hotel. Transportation must be arranged by regular service ie taxi or hotel shuttle service

Currency

The national currency is the Canadian dollar (CAN) All major credit cards are widely accepted at most major hotels, department stores and restaurants.

Competitor eligibility

For the USA, All NPC members must be nationally qualified to compete and are NPC members.

For Canada Top 15 from the current year at the Canadian Nationals and Canadian world qualifier and the top 5 from the above events in 2015 are qualified, All Canadian competitors must provide a current Provincial Association membership, along with their qualification. contact the CBBF President at Georgina [email protected] for confirmation.

Members of the Mexican Federation are eligible to compete upon approval of the Mexican Federation (FMFF).

All athletes will have to produce their IFBB International Card (passport) at the registration. Any athlete who has not yet purchased the IFBB International Card (passport) will have to buy one at registration. IFBB International Cards are $35 (USD) per year and are mandatory. all payments done at registration is cash only.

All competitors will need to have their current membership in hand at registration. – current NPC membership for the USA, Current provincial membership for Canada and current FMFF membership for Mexico.

OFFICIAL ATHLETE REGISTRATION

Official athlete registration (weigh-in, measurements) will take place Friday (SEPTEMBER 9th) from 1:00 pm till 9:00 pm at the Westin Hotel and is mandatory for all competitors. Athletes not registered before 9:00 pm on September 9th will not be allowed to compete. All posing music must be on an audio CD only. The posing music must also be at the start of the CD. Each competitor must affix his/her name on the CD for easy identification. The use of profane, vulgar and offensive language is strictly prohibited in the posing music.

Registration fee for Categories is $200 (USD), which will be collected at the time of registration.

JUDGESEach of the participating National Federations may nominate IFBB International Judges. All National Federations are reminded that their nominations of judges for the competition must be also included in the Final Entry Forms, failing which the individual will not be allowed to judge. VISASA valid passport is required to enter Canada. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months following your departure date from Canada and should have at least one blank page for visas.

TANNINGThe IFBB has banned all tans that can be wiped off. An official will check the tan of all athletes backstage and if the tan comes off by simply wiping, the athlete will be told to remove the tan before going on stage. Eclypse Tanning is the official spray tan provider for this contest. You can contact them directly for the perfect contest tan. BACKSTAGE / DRESSING ROOM ACCESS Back stage passes will be approved by the promoter, executive members. Judges will be exempt from back stage fees, all trainers and support personnel will need to purchase a backstage pass from the promoter

CAMERA / VIDEOTAPE EQUIPMENTCamera and/or videotape equipment shall be strictly prohibited in the backstage and/or dressing room areas except when used by IFBB-authorized media persons and, in any event, these devices shall be strictly prohibited in the dressing room area.
