AccommodationWe’ve hand-picked accommodation that’s situated in both beautiful and unique locations where there is a real sense of connection between nature and the destination, like Cicada Lodge, Te Waonui Forest Retreat, Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge and the Henry Jones Art Hotel. Accommodation will vary from cabins and private safari quarters, to lodges and hotels, depending on the location. In some very remote areas where accommodation options are limited, the accommodation standard may be slightly lower but nonetheless we believe the quality of the experience and the remote nature of the destination far outweighs any material comforts.

We guarantee you’ll experience innovative menus using local produce, and things you’ve never tried before.Breakfast is included daily, as are some lunches and most dinners. Please check with your airline(s) directly for their most current luggage regulations and related fees. AAT Kings is not responsible for additional fees imposed by carriers regarding luggage.

Smoking and Seat RotationGovernment regulations prohibit smoking inside tourist coaches. Please restrict smoking to the ample stops en route. To enable everyone the opportunity of enjoying window and front seats, clients change seats daily during the course of the tour.

Wi-FiComplimentary Wi-Fi service is available in many hotel guestrooms and/or the public areas of most hotels. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also provided on-board most of our touring coaches. Wi-Fi on coaches uses a mobile/cellular network and as a result the connection will be slower than regular broadband and at times may not be available. In some areas Wi-Fi service will not be available. Please note that Wi-Fi may not be available on transfer coaches and other local services.

What to BringWe recommend casual, lightweight, drip-dry clothing, with some warmer articles for the evenings and cooler days. For the winter months, a warm jacket is recommended. Pack shorts, pullover, rubber-soled walking shoes, swimsuit, towel, sleeping clothes and waterproof jacket. Do not forget your hat, camera, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, toiletries and a flask for drinking water. Regular laundry facilities are

available en route. Dress is usually casual, so bring comfortable clothing. In Central Australia and Southern Australia nights in winter (May to August) can be cold, frosts do occur and occasionally a cold wind blows, so bring warm clothing to suit.

Third Party SuppliersIMPORTANT: Scenic Flights, Boat Cruises, Helicopter Flights, Cable Car Rides, some 4WD Tours, White Water Rafting, Camel Rides, Hot Air Ballooning, Rail. These excursions are not operated by AAT Kings Tours, nor by persons or companies associated with AAT Kings Tours. These activities may involve inherent risk of injury, death, accident, delay and loss, and clients assume all such risk with regard to any misadventure, death, injury, delay or loss which occurs during, or as a result of, any such activity.

Kings Canyon Safety InformationDuring the hotter months temperatures can reach and exceed 36°C or 97°F. At these times the Watarrka National Park Rangers strongly advise that visitors do not take part in the Kings Canyon Rim Climb. In this drier desert climate heat exhaustion over these hotter months is a very high possibility and a danger in such remote regions. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our clients we offer a guided walk along the Kings Canyon creek-bed as a suitable alternative on such days.

Top End Wet Weather InformationDuring the wet season in the Top End of the Northern Territory (November to April) heavy rain and flooding can preclude access to Ubirr, East Alligator River and Arnhem Land. Alternative touring will be arranged.

Uluru Climb InformationUluru is a sacred site for the Anangu people and they prefer that visitors do not climb it. With this in mind, we do not recommend it. Throughout the year the Uluru (Ayers Rock) climb may close unexpectedly due to Aboriginal cultural reasons or inclement weather conditions prevailing at the time such as high temperatures, rain, strong winds, storms, low lying clouds or insufficient light.
