How would that work? 1. you sequence your genome 2. a team of biologists analyses it 3. they discover you are at-risk for developing skin cancer 4. you start regularly visiting your dermatologist 5. she discovers a small tumor, and removes it before it kills you

Currently, for you and I, even if we sequenced our genomes, we don’t have access to our own private team of biologists. And since it's not affordable, or even possible, that we all go to visit every kind of doctor every month, we do nothing. And the unlucky among us that should get their skin checked… die

• The lack of organisation is a barrier to collaboration

But: • A genome is so massive that it could fill up an entire hard drive

• The data has to be moved around but it's scattered, and

• There are no standards

And biologists are not able to handle these data, basically because they don’t know how to program.

We built InSilico DB, a collaborative genomics hub that makes it possible for biologists to analyse genomics data without any programming skills. We created a hub where data is centralised, it flows in, is standardised, curated and then flows out to various analysis tools scientists use to interrogate and interpret the data.
