I’m writing with an update on pending rentcontrol legislation in the state of California.

A statewide rent control and tenant protectionbill – Assembly Bill 1482 – passed the state

legislature this week and is expected to be signedinto law by Governor Gavin Newsom at any

time. Once enacted, this bill will have adetrimental impact on residents, communities

A proposal to protect rent-paying,lease-abiding tenants fromeviction through Assembly Bill1481 stalled on after its authorsconceded they could not drum upthe 41 votes it needed to pass outof the state Assembly before a keylegislative deadline.
