Leadership Institute The CBT has formed the Leadership Institute, a focal point of leadership education, research, and outreach within the College, across the University, and in the community. Addressing all aspects of leadership, the Leadership Institute will include critical thinking, team building, and ethics, as well as both the fundamentals and advanced topics in leadership.

The Leadership Institute will consist of three academic components: a Leadership Certificate, a Leadership Minor, and an Introduction to Leadership course. The Leadership Certificate will incorporate courses in critical thinking, ethics, and leadership from a variety of disciplines across the University into the nine-hour certificate. The Leadership Minor will consist of two courses offered by the College. These courses will be in team building and advanced leadership studies, including the Team of Teams concept.

The Leadership Institute will connect to the community through practitioner workshops providing leadership training. The Institute will bring thought leaders on leadership to the campus and community through the CBT Leadership Speaker Series. Lou Holtz will kick off the series in April 2016. Students in MANA 1300 Introduction to Business will attend as part of the course requirements. Students enrolled in the Leadership Certificate and/or Leadership Minor may also be involved. The Institute will provide co-curricular leadership activities in a partnership with the UT Tyler Office of Leadership and Service.
