KCPC Youth Summit
Groundswell Showcase
Mrs. Chappell, Mr. Brandsen, and 16 students traveled to the DeVos Place Convention Center for the KCPC Youth Summit on
May 12. The students participated in thinking critically about personal choices and making a commitment to live Above the
Influence. Students were also able to attend many workshops and hear from various keynote speakers.
Mr. Brandsen, and 14 students attended the Teen River Rally conference at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel on May 10th.
Students participated in workshops, keynote presentations, networking opportunities, and celebrated success with
watershed protection enthusiasts.
Mrs. Chappell, Mr. Brandsen, and 10 Innovation Central Sophomores, presented their Groundswell project! The Groundswell
Student Showcase took place on May 17 at Celebration Cinema North. Students worked with Groundswell to spread awareness
in the community about the effect of pet waste on the water system and prevention.
