The Sci-Fi Channel approached Brainfood Entertainment to create an original prime-time magazine format television program. It would serve as the flagship series launching the new cable channel. The challenge was to make space exploration appealing, not only to millions of space enthusiasts, but also to a broad television audience. Guests included Dr. Carl Sagan, the space shuttle astronauts, Rastafarians, space artists, and the Deputy Director of the CIA. Story segments, shot on location, explored the lofty - "Return To The Moon"; the light hearted - "Space In Your Face"; and the bizarre - "You Don't Have to be an Einstein". Inside Space hosts included Star Trek's Nichelle Nichols, Lost in Space's Bill Mumy, and three times space shuttle astronaut Mike Mullane. Brainfood Entertainment wrote, produced, and directed the forty half-hour episode series from concept sketches and set design, to location and studio shoots, to final air.
