If the way to Dad’s heart isn’t through his stomach, there’s always a flick at Dendy, a

BYBLOS RELAUNCHED

If jocks and socks aren’t your idea of the perfect Father’s Day gift, then look no further than Portside Wharf. Dads will rule on Sunday, September 7, so treat your old man to a meal, a movie or a makeover with the help of the great range of restaurants, bars and shops at Portside Wharf.

The entries are in and the winner is Jayde K. Thank you to everyone who entered their favourite Portside Wharf moments in our Instagram competition. Jayde received a fantastic package that included more than $2500 of prizes from retailers across the precinct. If you haven’t already, jump on to Instagram and follow #portsidewharf

DAD’S TIME TO SHINE!

Congratulations

Jayde!

Byblos is back - and better than ever! The restaurant and bar has relaunched following a massive makeover - the vision of brothers Adonis and Nehme Ghanem. The new fit-out includes plush leathers, rich oak timbers, smooth stone, luxe velvets and an extraordinary lighting installation. The new interior has an extended dining room suitable for 100 guests, along with a revamped bar and lounge and outdoor area to kick back with a cocktail and take in the stunning

waterfront view. A new menu is also on offer, built on a foundation of classic, traditional Mediterranean recipes and culinary techniques including Lebanese specialties like Kebbi Nayeh, Lahim Bil Ajeen, Rekakat, Makanek and Sambusek; all prepared with a contemporary touch and the chef’s own personal influence. The new menu sees an update to the famous Char-grilled chicken and the return of everyone’s favourite, the Seayadeyeh.

CRUISE IN FOR FATHER’S DAY

COFFEE WITHOUT THE FROTH

Wet your whistle with a spring cocktail or selection of new wines at Byblos, complementing the stunning new look and new menu. With such a fabulous revamped bar to showcase them in, who could resist? The recently awarded Ghanem Group beverage team, Aaron Clarke and Penny Grant, have completed the overhaul of the new Byblos drinks list. True to its reputation, the new list will have a strong influence of spring cocktails and is broken into three categories - sweet, sour and strong. The wine list is food friendly and approachable, with a strong influence of classic Australian wines.

For a coffee, without the dairy, head no further than Deer Sir. The cafe offers a range of alternatives for those that prefer a dairy free lifestyle or require a lactose free diet. Deer Sir’s tip is Bonsoy. For soy drinkers who haven’t tried Bonsoy, you are in for a treat, with it rated one of the yummiest soys on the market, with a nicer flavour and creamier texture than normal soy options. If soy is not for you, Deer Sir also offers almond milk and zymil, so there is something for everyone!

NEW DRINKS ON THE MENU

If the way to Dad’s heart is through his stomach, why not take him to Cruisers for a Father’s Day treat, with an extensive and recently updated menu of meals and delicious home made desserts!

They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. Why does the eye reveal so much? The eye is directly connected to the brain via the optic nerve, and it shows the condition of the nervous system and the brain. When the nervous system or brain have been injured, the eye changes, loses clarity and alertness, and it even can lose its ability to see. The skin around the eyes tell its own story - of how we have lived our life.

The skin around the eyes is much thinner than the skin on the face with a fragile epidermal and dermal structure. The tissue around the eyes has very few oil glands, therefore it lacks the natural moisture present on other parts of the body and is easily subject to dehydration and sensitivity.

Glycation (from sugar intake) weakens the dermis, the connective tissue in the walls of the blood and lymph vessels, which contributes to wrinkle formation, blue circles and puffiness. Meanwhile, sun damage accelerates the ageing process around the delicate eye area with 90 per cent of extrinsic ageing caused from the sun.

In addition, the skin around the eye is constantly moving (blinking alone produces 10,000 movements per day) and other facial movements and expressions such as smiles, squinting and stress can all lead to prematurely aged skin around the eye.

Ella Bache’s new SpiruLines Green-Lift Eyes give you an opportunity to help combat the above mentioned trigger factors, making your eyes look younger and brighter. See Laura and the team at Ella Bache Portside today to design a skin care routine that is tailored to your skin’s individual needs.

Let’s face it, while most of us can’t live without smart phones, tablets and iPods, they don’t really look so good, but the new range of wallets, covers and bags at Co Design will change all that. Suddenly, that big black brick you usually carry around under your arm looks chic and stylish, thanks to these beautiful collections direct from London. Ranging from $20 - $150, these pieces are here to disguise your necessities as fashionable accessories. The gorgeous collection from Aviary focuses on birds from around the world including flamingos, peacocks and hummingbirds, while the Havana collection is themed on a tropical paradise using vibrant colours set against dark backgrounds to highlight striking parrots and stunning flowers. For the traveller, the Paper Plane collection turns old letters and maps into passport holders and travel diaries - perfect for that trip you’re dreaming of, or to keep memories of the one you’ve taken.

KEEP IT COVERED WITH STYLE

Fadi says side swept hair worn with a deep part, either sleek, out with soft waves or in a pony is very ‘in’ this season.

The owner of Fadi’s Hair also says the ever-evolving braid remains popular and should be worn tousled, textured or french braided with a side sweep look to keep on trend this spring.

To make a statement, add a hair accessory like a leather tie, a gold leaf or a barret for a pony. All are sold in store at Fadi’s Hair.

For year-round pampering and perfect hair, get the exclusive VIP Fadi’s Black Card for unlimited services for 12 months. It’s ideal for the ladies who enjoy a weekly blow-dry or for men needing regular touch ups.

Check out the new website at www.fadishair.com.au or call the salon to book in for a free consultation.

For the latest updates and hair inspirations, like the Fadi’s Hair Portside Facebook page.

Sharpen the old boy up with a cutthroat and style cut from Bou’s for Men barber. He’ll be thanking you as he relaxes in the leather chairs while he has the full make-over complete with hot towels and aftershave. Bou’s for Men also stocks old school cutthroat shaving kits and hard to find hair products from the USA and UK so grab Dad a gift or buy him a voucher and let him be pampered (in a manly way).

LIVING

Construction on the four-storey Link building has reached the top, while the 16-storey luxury riverfront building, Pinnacle, is also well out of the ground, with work underway on level nine.

Link, located near the entrance of Portside Wharf, comprises 34 apartments featuring one bedroom, one bathroom and one car space. With only one apartment remaining, priced at $425,000, Link has proved popular with investors, achieving more than $12 million in sales since its release last year.

More than 60% of the 162 apartments at Pinnacle at Portside Wharf have sold, for a total of more than $90 million.

When complete, Pinnacle will feature one, two and three bedroom apartments, penthouses and River Terraces with a rooftop infinity pool, barbeque and entertainment area, and gymnasium for the exclusive use of its residents.

The popularity of high-end residences has left just one of five luxury penthouses in Pinnacle, after more than $4 million worth sold in a matter of weeks earlier this year.

Only a handful of three bedroom apartments remain, while half of the exclusive River Terraces have already been snapped up.

A good selection of two bedroom apartments with river and city views remain on offer from $545,000.

Brookfield Residential Properties Regional Director Lee Butterworth said construction on both buildings was progressing well.

“Link will be completed late this year and is set to bring additional retailers to the precinct, with 520sqm of space available for lease on the ground floor,” he said.

“Construction is also on track for Pinnacle and now that the building has started stretching skywards, people can really see the quality of what we are creating.

“Pinnacle will boast a prime absolute riverfront position, with more than 70 per cent of the apartments taking in river and city views and each including high quality fittings and finishes.

“These are the most luxurious apartments we’ve developed to date at Portside Wharf and, with one bedroom apartments right up to luxury penthouses available, they have been attracting strong interest from a diverse range of buyers.”

Mr Butterworth said sales at Pinnacle had predominately been to owner occupiers.

BROOKFIELD RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES’ PORTSIDE WHARF DEVELOPMENT IS HITTING NEW HIGHS, WITH TWO NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS STRETCHING SKYWARDS SIMULTANEOUSLY AND MORE THAN $82 MILLION IN SALES OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

“We have found the majority of our buyers plan to make the move from a large home in a neighbouring suburb to their new low-maintenance apartment, right on the river,” he said.

“Purchasers want spectacular river and city views, along with Pinnacle’s absolute river front location.

“They have selected Pinnacle because of its unique location, on the river and in the vibrant Portside Wharf precinct, which means they can enjoy a lifestyle of luxury and convenience, with everything from top restaurants to a barber, day spa, supermarket and cinema at the doorstep.

“The apartments themselves include generous balconies to take in the river views and gourmet kitchens that are perfect for entertaining, so whether they want to meet friends at their favourite restaurant, cafe or bar, or have them over to their place, they have the perfect venue.”

Mr Butterworth said the proximity to the city and other major amenities was also appealing.

“Residents literally have front door access to the surrounding river walkways and bike paths, and are living just six kilometres from the CBD, 15 minutes from the airport, close to the Gateway Motorway and public transport, including the City Cat, making for an easy commute,” he said.

“It is extremely rare to have the opportunity to live in a community that offers such diversity in terms of amenities both on-site - with Portside Wharf home to more than

35 retailers - and close by, with the natural backdrop of Brisbane’s most iconic asset, the river.”

Pinnacle is the fifth residential building to be released at Portside Wharf. The precinct is already home to the completed Promenade, Flare, Infinity and Loft buildings, with Link also under construction.

Promenade, which has sold over $100 million in apartments to date, has just a handful of large, two bedroom apartments remaining from $635,000.
