The Dynamic

Duo Underneath the grand show that is Formula One is a serious business.

Millions can be made or lost in a sport where victory is everything. Multiple

world champions Williams have seen mixed fortunes over the past few years

but never gaining enough momentum to return to the top. The re-ignition of

one of the most potent partnerships in F1 could change that. Renault and

Williams are back in business.

From 2012 to 2013 the Williams Formula One team will be powered by what is

currently the most successful, reliable and widely used engine in the sport.

1989-1997 were the golden years of this alliance making the iconic name a

legend. It has even been hinted that a Renault twin-turbo V6 will be placed in

the Williams after the rule changes in 2014.

Can this bring Williams the success it once had? Only time will tell.

The Retirement Of A Legend

Page 5: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

The Bugatti Veyron is a triumph of engineering over the

natural world. Literally pushing the laws of physics to

its limits, this car from day one became a legend.

Some say its ugly, others that it has no character… My

reply to that would be that this is a machine of function

and at speeds of up to 267MPH it is science that

restricts how it looks. This car is beautiful in other ways

such as its quality or incredible refinement. Sadly all

good things must come to an end.

The final Bugatti Veyron of the fixed-roof variety has been sold marking an end to the

300 units. Wanting a Veyron brand new now leaves you no choice but to opt for the

Grand Sport and even then you will have to move fast as their numbers are also

dwindling. Speculation has it that Bugatti are planning a successor to this car and even

more intriguing is that they once had an electric Veyron test car. Who knows what the

future holds but you can bet your house that Bugatti wont be fading away.

“For Once Common Sense Has Triumphed Over The Environmentalist!”

F1 Keeps V8’s

Page 7: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

The world around us is becoming a

greener place with EV’s entering the

mass market and heavy taxation of

products that fail to show any

environmental promise. Formula One

to many is the ultimate in motorsport

bringing the worlds bravest and

brightest together in a battle for

ultimate victory. Others however see

it as a huge waste of resources and

demand something be done about it.

They appeared to be getting their

way as 2013 was to see the worlds

premier motorsport be powered by

engines smaller than that in your own

car. Thankfully common sense has

prevailed.

The original plan was for the sport to

downsize from the glorious 2.4 litre

V8’s of today to four cylinder turbo’s.

This in our view is pathetic as F1

should be a symbol of performance

at its best not speed governed by the

green party. Thanks to strong

opposition, and a good old elbow to

the ribs from Ferrari, these plans

have been postponed. The engine

change will now happen in 2014 with

the induction of 1.6 litre V6 power-

plants.

“It’s An

M3 But On

Steroids”

Page 9: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

Hardcore M fans still rue the day BMW discontinued

the M3 CLS. The meaty coupe would breath fire and

bellow to its hearts content all day long making for a

brilliant experience behind the wheel. There were plans

for a CLS revival last year but development was

scrapped in favor of giving the X5 and X6 an M badge.

Today CLS fans rejoice as its modern-day counterpart

is here and its called the CRT.

This lighter, more powerful beast uses BMW’s new

carbon fibre technology to reduce weight and increase

performance. The high revving 4.4 litre V8 will produce

450BHP and 324lb-ft of torque. 0-62MPH? Done in as

little at 4.4 seconds. This is a welcome return to the

hardcore M3 and there is no doubt that you want one…

Get on the phone to your local BMW now as only 67

units will be produced and all in silver.

The Mini Adventure Continues

Page 11: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

The original Mini is today the stuff of legend. The cheeky little car that

captures the hearts of many and trophies of the world is still a very sought

after machine. When BMW produced their Mini we weren’t sure about the

styling or the dramatic increase in size but as a car it is a very solid piece

of kit. Today Mini extends its line-up by one yet again with something we

thought we would never see… A Coupe.

Based upon the Coupe concept this is the 2012 Mini Cooper Coupe, a

two seater variant of the hatchback. There will be 3 variants of the car;

Cooper, Cooper D and JCW. The car in the images is the JCW armed with

a 1.6 litre twin-turbo producing 208BHP. That is enough to shoot the car to

62MPH from standing in 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 149MPH. A

spoiler deploys for extra downforce at over 50MPH.

Prices start from just over £16,000 and sales begin this October.

“The best looking M5 Since 1997”

Page 14: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

The BMW M5 is an amazing experience in terms of sensation. One moment you are in

a luxurious German saloon with every toy under the sun, the next after a push of a

button marked ‘M” it turns into a howling rocket ship! The much loved V10 incarnation of

this car passed away last year and will be dearly missed, yet BMW promise this this

new turbo V8 will be every bit as special.

Bringing a butch new look to the badge, the 2012 model certainly has the visual shock

and awe to back competitors into submission. However the muscular new shape isn’t

the only point of interest. Powered by a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 the M5 is once again a

tower of power producing 552BHP and doing the 0-62MPH run in just 4.4 seconds. Top

speed is a supercar matching 190MPH and with 502lb-ft of torque its grunt wont make

the experience uneventful. Reworked chassis and suspension promises an involving

drive come this November. Prices start at £73,040.

One of a Kind

Page 17: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

Bugatti’s immortal Veyron is coming to the

end of its life as the stipulated 350 units

enter their final run. All 300 coupe variants

are now spoken for including the illustrious

Super Sport leaving only the convertible

Grand Sport to satisfy buyers needs. As

even this car comes to an end Bugatti has

released a special one-off Veyron Grand

Sport that is nothing but incredible.

Page 18: Inside Lane Magazine Issue 30 "BMW M5"

This is the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L’Or Blanc and it costs a

phenomenal £1,490,280. The name means “white gold”

reflecting upon the rarity of this machine. The body is made of

porcelain allowing for the incredible effect you can see before

you. The interior is also reupholstered to match the

unconventional body. We think it looks amazing and a very

worthy addition to the closing chapters of a car that made

history.
