The Ste. Anne Hospital Fund held its 10th annual all you can eat Lobsterfest on Saturday October 24th at the La Broquerie Hotel, served by the Red Rose Dining Palace. The fundraising evening raised a record- breaking $28 000 this year thanks to a sold out crowd and many local sponsors. The evening had a festive atmosphere as guests delighted in fresh New Brunswick lobster and sang along to French traditional songs played by the live band. In total, 600 pounds of lobster was served during the evening. This event was also an opportunity to thank the Ste. Anne Hospital Fund’s generous donors. “We were happy to take this opportunity to honor a very special donor, Mr. Louis Perrin, who left us a very generous and substantial gift in his will,” says Ste. Anne Hospital Fund president, Raymond Laflèche. New to the event this year, was the “Wine Pull”, a fundraising activ- ity, sponsored by Pharmacie Dufresne and Pharmacie Centre de Santé La Broquerie. Participants took their chances at winning some very expensive and decadent bottles of wine. Each participant won a bottle of wine to take home, ranging in value from $15 to $50, and had a chance at winning a wine themed grand prize. “We received many compliments and positive feed back on the new Wine Pull. Our guests really liked this new activity, and it’s a great way to raise more money for our hospital,” says Zoé Nakata, Executive Director of the Ste. Anne Hospital Fund. Funds raised at this year’s Lobsterfest will go towards the purchase of specialized equipment for the hospital’s new Operating Ward.
