The Ste. Anne Lions Club helped Mr. Bourgouin from Ste. Anne walka little taller last week when they presented him with a new walker. Hisregular sized walker caused him to bend over to reach the handles andwas just not suitable for a man of his stature. The Ste. Anne Lions Clubaims to provide assistance to anyone in the community in need of help. If you would like more information on the Lions Club feel free to speakto one of your local Lions or email them at [email protected].

The Ste. Anne Lions Club held their second coffee and entertainmentevening on Saturday, February 28. According to the Lions Club, theevening was a total success. The hall was decorated with kites to pro-mote the Lions upcoming Kite Festival to be held on June 20 in Ste.Anne. Peace posters created by children from the local schools deco-rated the walls and funny little Lion bobble heads and handmade gamestopped each table turning Club Jovial into a very fun relaxing atmo-sphere. The evening’s musical entertainment by the Chammartin Family liter-ally brought the house to their feet cheering for an encore. “They are amazingly talented artists and made the night very memo-rable,” said guest Cathy Roy. There was a silent auction and honey sales and a 50/50 draw to raisefunds for future causes in the community. During the evening Lion ChrisBarnard called up 14-year-old Katrina McPherson, who is always eagerto lend a hand in her community, and named her an honorary Lion andpresented her with her very own name tag. “I love volunteering it’s so much fun to help out. I really can’t waituntil I’m old enough to join the Lions Club,” said an excited Katrina.
