1.)Pigtail Splice The pigtail splice (also called a rattail splice) is used to join two wires in

location where there is no pull or strain on the wires, such as inside metal

    enclosure.

2.)Tap Splice The tap splice is used where you want to join a second wire to a conductor

3.)Fixture Splice The fixture splice is used when a solid wire and stranded must be joined.

4.)Ordinary Cross Joint Commonly used for joining two tap conductors to a through conductor in the

    opposite direction.

This type of joint is used when two wires are to be connected to a mainconductor. The two wires are twisted in opposite direction around the

insulated part of the main line.

5.)Small Aerial Tap Joint Used mostly on outside work or in location where wires are subjected to

    considerable movement.

    6.)Knotted Tap Joint

It is occasionally used in practice, particularly for temporary lighting systemwhere time is not taken to solder joints.

It is very substantial joint and will not untwist even though strain placed uponit.

7.)Britanna Splice Used for both outside and inside wiring where solid wire or no. 6 larger sizes

are to join and wire connectors or pliers are not athand.

8.)Mc Entire Sleeve Used for splicing copper or steel telephone or telegraph wire.

9.)Duplex Double Wrapped Cross Tap Joint This one is just like ordinary cross joint but twisted together in the same

    direction around the main conductors.

The difference of the two joints is that the top conductors are wrappedsimultaneously and has a characteristic of being stronger.

10.) Plain Tap or Tee Tap Joint

It is done like the cross joint with the absence of the wire Used in greater extent for joining a tap conductor to a through conductor

    11.) Terminating Fixture joint

Used when fixture bends are joint to the end of branch or main wires12.)Under Writers Knot Ithelps secure electrical connection specially that of the plug. Since the ends

plug, they will be experiencing a significant amount of tensile stress. Thus

could be prevented by the under writers knot because it will instead take the

brunt of the stretching force and not the un-insulated ends under the screw

    terminal.

13.)Duplex Wire Joint Only used in conduits where twin or duplex wire are used.

14.)Western Union Long Tie Splice It is used extensively for outside wiring and is quite similar to the short tie

splice, being used for the purpose. The only difference is the number of long

twist is made wrapping the end.
