Proven Design and Performance GenesisTM DHB and DBB dryers from ZEKS combine desiccant adsorption and heated regeneration in a twin-tower dryer configuration for compressed air drying tovery low dew point. They deliver compressed air with -40o F pressure dew point (optional lower dew pointsavailable) for critical compressed air applications thatrequire very low dew point temperature. Standard modelsizes start at 100 SCFM and go up to 7,500 SCFM makingGenesis dryers suitable for compressed air applicationsof any size. Industrial grade, field tested, componentsand controls enable these dryers to provide years ofenergy-efficient performance and reliable operation.

DHB models use a small percentage ofdry outlet air (purge air) to regenerate thedesiccant media that becomes saturatedduring dryer operation. The -40oF dewpoint (@100 psig) purge air is expanded toatmospheric pressure, lowering its dewpoint to -78oF. It is then heated to 400o Fand flowed through the regenerating towerwhere it carries accumulated water fromthe desiccant media out to the atmosphere.Use of this hot, super-dry purge air limitspurge loss to 7% of the design inlet flow of the dryer.

DBB models include an electric blower that forcesheated atmospheric air through the regenerating towerwhere it carries accumulated water from the desiccantmedia out to the atmosphere. DBB models do not useany compressed air for desiccant regeneration.

PLC FlexibilityA Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) automaticallycontrols dryer operation and monitors dryer performance.Inlet air valves, purge valves, repressurization, and dryeralarm functions are all controlled or monitored by thePLC. The standard Failure-to-Shift protection featureenables the PLC to automatically direct the dryer to

take corrective action in the event of valve failure to allow continued air drying

GenesisTM heat regenerated dryers are designed toadsorb nearly all moisture from compressed air. Thedryers are constructed with two towers, each containingdesiccant media, that alternate between online (drying)and offline (regenerating) modes to provide a continuousflow of dried air.

During normal operation, wet air passes through theonline tower where water vapor in the air is adsorbed(collected) onto the surface of the desiccant media.Simultaneously, moisture on the desiccant media in theoffline tower is removed through a regeneration process.

For regeneration, DHB models use a small portion ofdried air from the online tower. The air is expanded toatmospheric pressure and directed through a heaterand then through the offline tower where it carries moisture away from the desiccant. DBB models utilizea dedicated blower to supply the heated air required forregeneration of the desiccant in the offline tower.

Timed sequencing of the towers from online modefor drying to offline mode for heated regeneration isautomatically controlled by a Programmable LogicController (PLC).
