Modified ballast rake has

been developed at

division to enable better

ballast dressing with

lesser number of gang

men.

Safety chain at LC gates has to be provided in

case of damage/defective lifting barrier and stop

boards are used to be held up by inserting holding

pipe into hole (on road surface). Now a triangular

stand has been developed to hold stop board,

which enables to provide safety chain quicklywithout problem.

Trespassing is a major problem of Bikaner

division. There are 55 such locations identified

over BKN Division.

A new initiative has been taken and RUB is being

proposed to construct at these locations under

NREGA scheme by state PWD.

technical sanction has been given by concerned

District Collectors.

Work is in advance stage at eight locations

between BKN-RTGH-CUR section. RCC boxes has

already been casted and launching is planned to

complete in next month.

Outstation cheque stopped. Payment to Govt.Deptt. by draft directly issued from bank on thebasis of single cheque used. Total no. of chequesissued has reduced drastically.

Use of RTGS for settlementand PF cases

Previously payment for settlement cases & PF

withdrawal were through individual cheque, whichused to take approx. 15 to 20 days for remittance in

the account of staff

Payment for settlement & PF cases are now donethrough RTGS, which takes approx. 2 days only

Blank cheques inventory system

Un-used and blank cheques under singleresponsibility were threat to misuse/fraud

Blank & un-used cheques stationery are kept

under III tear system. Main stock are kept underdouble lock and key, with two different officers.

Supplementary Bills are being pre-checked & vetted, prior to charging

in the regular salary bills

Previously separate bills for supplementarypayment to staff i.e. MACP, Leave encashment ,

OT, Medical reimbursement at different periodswere causing difficulty to staff and to bring entirepayment for tax calculation

All payments of supplementary bills are beingmade with salary. Thus, problem of staff inreceiving payment as well as office sorted out.

Settlement of abnormal pension caseswithin one month

Settlement cases for abnormal pension viz. V.R.,Invalid pension, Compulsory, family pension etc.were taking more time in settlement.

A JPO (Account & personnel) issued to ensuretime bound dealing at different stage resultantlysettlement payment of cases received up to 10th ofmonth are being made in the same month

Betterment for PF annualReconciliation

PF annual reconciliation due date is end of Sept.Last year it was done in Oct. but during currentyear PF reconciliation was done on 02.08.11 for theyear 2010-11

Debit & Credit adjustment of PF TCs

Linking of unlinked PF items.

Quarterly reconciliation is started this year.

Old records were creating space problem. Dustyand shabby records occupied all spaces

Setting arrangement of staff was in very oldbuilding in dilapidated & shabby condition

Rooms have been renovated with tiles flooring

and POP walls & new furniture provided to staff

One touch dialing facility on BSNL connectionshas been provided for 2 section controls which areon BSNL owned overhead alignment to enhanceavailability of control communication.

To enhance safety and to monitor relay roomopening/closing micro-switches have beeninstalled at 8 stations in LGH-PLC section

5 LC gates have been interlocked out which 4 arewith Electric lifting barriers to enhance safety atlevel crossing gates.

LGH-PLC section has been provided with RailwayTelephone of BKN exchange on OFC network.

In house repair center has been developed atBKN for repair of power supply unit, track feedcharger etc. This has resulted into saving ofrailway revenue.

Screaning Camp On 30.05.2011 for "Glaucomadetection" was held in Divl/Hospital /Bikaner. A

total of 42 patients screaned and 5 new Glaucomapateints were detected. All pateints were taughtabout Glaucoma and its implications throughposter , pamphlets and audiovisual presentation

by Dr. L.S.Nainwal to aviod Glaucoma relatedblindness

HB AIC test camp of diabetes case at Divisional

Hospital, Bikaner, LGH on 06.06.11. Total 26

patients were checked.

Clinical meeting/case study done in CMS/BKNsChamber on 18.06.2011 in which Dr. Arun Gupta,

Sr.DMO/DH/BKN/LGH presented a case study ofallergic broncho-pulmonary aspergillosis. Allavailable Doctors of Divisional Hospital, Bikanerattended the meeting.

A camp with the contribution of NWRWWO/BKN wasconducted on 1st July 2011 on Diabetic,

Hypertension and Neuropathy about 155 patientswere examined. An educational talk was conductedby Dr. Pramod Soni, Non invasive cardiologist anddiabetic dietician, Ms. Vrinida. DRM/BKN presided

over the function.

School Health Check up programme was organized

at School run by NWRWWO on 23.07.2011

A lecture on breast feeding and neonatal care wasorganized on 02.08.11 for pregnant and lactating

mothers and nursing staff where advantages of breastfeeding for baby as well as mother were emphasized.

Importance of weaning and handling of New Born wastaught to the mothers.

An awareness deliberations was conducted for RPFpersonnel at Barrack of RPF personnel, Rani Bazar,Bikaner on 10.08.11 presided by Sr.DSC/RPF/BKN onortho dental awareness with more emphasis on causesand spread of oral cancers. Speech given by Dr. AshuMalik, DDS/DH/BKN, CMS/BKN was also there. About 40-

45 RPF personnel came for check up.

An inhouse deliberation was conducted on BioMedical Waste collection at Conference Hall,

DH/BKN for the medical staffs for properimplication of bio medical waste collection,storage and disposal of bio medical waste. About28-30 medical staffs participated in this

deliberation and their queries were satisfied.
