Innovations in Narrative Practice around Australia Innovations in Narrative Practice around Australia Training introduction Workshop information About the facilitator This workshop will: cover trainer’s practice stories demonstrate how narrative practice is used in a hospital’s Emergency Department highlight how narrative practice is used in brief encounters, where ongoing therapy is not the model use documentation to enrich these brief encounters and explore various maps of practice explain usage of migration of identity reflect on how these practice innovations can be transferred into the HK context Tileah Drahm-Butler is an Aboriginal woman of the Darumbal nation who lives in Kuranda, North QLD. Tileah currently works as a Social Worker in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit of the Cairns Hospital where she uses Narrative Practice in brief encounters with patients and their families. Tileah is on the Dulwich Centre International Teaching Faculty and teaches Narrative Practice through an Aboriginal lens and works to co-research ways that Narrative Therapy can be used in a range of settings as decolonising practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As well as enjoying these realms of Narrative Practice, Tileah is a beekeeper and enjoys camping, bushwalking and home decorating.
