The UK is a global leader in financial services and

one of the world’s principal centres for financial

innovation.

UK FinTech Week 2020 (UKFW) will bring

together the very best of this exciting sector and

showcase the UK’s rapid progress in fostering and

enabling positive change in financial services.

UKFW will celebrate FinTech hubs throughout

the country from Monday 20th to Friday 24th

April 2020. It will be a series of events to explore,

debate and tackle the key issues at the heart of

financial innovation.

UKFW will see leaders and new entrants in the

sector share insights, discuss hot topics and

trends, and foster collaboration.

Senior financial services stakeholders from

around the world will gather in the UK during

the course of the week. UKFW will be attended

by FinTech founders, institutions, technologists,

entrepreneurs, investors, regulators, policy

makers, politicians, academics and media.

It is the best opportunity to discover why the

UK is and will remain a world leading financial

services hub, packing a year’s worth of knowledge

and insight into just five days.

Ifgs: The Flagship Event of UK FinTech Week

international companies came to and invested in the UK.

The UK remains one of the leading jurisdictions for investment into FinTech startups, with VC and

PE investment reaching $3.3 billion in 2018. The UK was the third highest country for VC FinTech

investment, behind only the US and China.

Much of that capital came from overseas investors, as the UK continues to be seen as one of the most

attractive markets for FinTech investment across the globe.

National skills dayAs FinTech continues to grow rapidly, so will the need for talent. We need the sector to appeal to

a diverse workforce to fill the many exciting opportunities within FinTech companies.

Our National Skills Day is aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about what working in

financial services innovation is all about. FinTechs across the country will throw open their

doors and provide a real insight into what makes the sector such an attractive place to work.

If you’re a student, graduate or someone who wants to learn more about this exciting sector

as part of a career change, then mark this date in your diary!

Our FinTech for Schools initative aims to increase young people’s engagement with the

world of FinTech. We want to drive financial wellbeing and inclusion by raising about

FinTech products, banks’ innovation programmes and work opportunities in the sector.
