Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus• Long ago there was a fungus named Freddy. Now Freddy Fungus was very

good at building houses,• but he wasn’t a very good cook. In fact, he couldn’t even make his own food;

like all fungi, he had to find dead plants or animals to eat, and sometimes he couldn’t find much food.

• One day, while Freddy Fungus was sitting on a tree stump, he looked over at a rain puddle and saw something green growing there.

• The green thing looked up at him and smiled.• “What’s your name,” the green thing said.• “I ’m Freddy Fungus. What’s your name?”• “I ’m Alice Algae and I was just making some food out of sunshine. Are you

hungry?”• Freddy Fungus blew right over there, and people say that Freddy Fungus

and Alice Algae took a lichen (liking) to each other. They decided to get married. And from then on, Freddy Fungus would make a house and Alice Algae would make food and they could live wherever they wanted, as long as there was sunlight.

• That’s why to this day, when we see a lichen plant, we tell the symbiotic story of a fungus and an alga that fell in love. Keep that in mind the next time you see lichen on a rock.

FIELD TRIPS

• Field trips give students a chance to get out of the classroom and experience something new.

• Enhances the Curriculum.• Team Building.• Teachers get to go into more detail

while at the location, to directly point out certain points she may not have been able to make with words alone.

• Students are more engaged when learning through playing.

• Games help students to learn social skills like sharing.

• Games help in developing problem solving skills.

• It is the perfect way to channelize energy of hyperactive kids.

TEACHING WITH GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR

• Laughter is a natural & universal phenomenon with beneficial effects, both physical and psychological.

• Everyone loves the teacher with infectious sense of humor.

• Cordial relationship.• Ability to relax students & reduce tension.• Students enjoy humor in form of funny

anecdotes.

• Newton's law:A Cow was walking. NEWTONstopped it.It stopped. He found his first law,... "An object continues to moveunless it'sstopped".He gave a FORCE by kicking theCow, it gave aSound"MA"!He formulated the 2nd law,F=MA!!After sometime the Cow gave akick to Newton, then he formulated the 3rd Law.i.e, 'EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL & OPPOSITE REACTION'

• One day BHARTI said to TUNTUN, “I am very powerful and you are not”.

• T UNT UN replied, “ Madam , you are mis taken. L et’s run to the second floor and find who is more powerful”.

B HAR T I took 20 sec by us ing spiral s tairs while T UNT UN took 15 sec us ing inclined plane

Note:- B oth have same mass and the height of second floor from the ground is 20m.

• T hey were confused, who is more powerful?

• T hen Mr. S IDHU suggested to compare the time taken.

• T UNT UN B HAR T I• P 1 P 2

• Who is more powerful?• Ans :-… … … … … ..

Group discussion

• Develops speaking skills.• Is used to balance as who is contributing &

how much.• Provides immediate feedback both to

teacher & students.

I am a scientist . One day , my magnetic needle fell near a current carrying wire. I observed _______. Then I reversed the direction of current in the wire and observed deflection in __________direction which resulted in the discovery of ______.Then my friend __________ proposed cork -screw rule to find out the direction of magnetic field. Another friend of mine , ___________ thought in the opposite way that __________ can be produced with the help of magnets using a coil of large number of turns called ________ and a galvanometer due to relative motion between coil and magnet. He named the law as _________ which is the working principle of electric generator. Later on Mr. Fleming proposed _______ hand rule to find the direction of the induced current. Who am I? __________
