• How educators are innovating teaching and learning by providing students the tools they need to inquire, collaborate, create and learn

• How Lee’s Summit R-7 School District and the Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) program are shifting to student centered learning approaches for their students

• The 3 critical elements any program must include for success

• 2014-15 student enrollment 17,738

• 18 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 3 high schools, 1 alternative secondary school, 1 secondary technology academy, 1 early education center, 1 special-education, day-treatment center

Program includes:

• Dell Chromebook 11 for all students grades K-12

• Digital citizenship and proper use of technology instruction and supervision

• Professional development on designing empowering and engaging lessons in a one-to-one environment

• Device management, content filtering (at school and away from school) and use of data for instructional needs

Changing the Paradigm:

Transform our schools to be more student-centered through the use of effectively applied technology to make their education more relevant, their coursework more meaningful and allow both teachers and students to communicate more effectively.

Program includes:

• Dell Venue 11 tablets for all students, grade 9 - 12

• Professional development for teachers, technology training for students and teachers

• Support plan and loaner pool so student learning is not impacted

• Cloud infrastructure to support 24/7 access

• Curriculum to maximize (appropriate) the use of the device Patience!
