Follow ing thatevent, ithasbeen a busy 2011 holiday season forthe National Services, Am ericanism and Com m unity ServicesofThousand OaksElksLodge #2477. Beginning on October28 th , w ith a lunch forresidentsofthe Sepulveda V.A. Hospital, the program continued through several eventsduring Novem berand Decem berand com pleted the season w ith visitsto the Sepulveda V.A. in the San Fernando Valley and the CalVetHom e – Ventura, located in Saticoy, CA. Nearly $2,000 in goodsw ere delivered to veterans, snacksand dessertsw ere offered, karaoke w ith Christm ascarolsand good w ishesbroughtsm ilesto m ore than 50 veteransasresidentsand to those providing servicesincluding 20 Elks, ofw hom 16 are veterans. In addition, the annual Christm asBasket deliveries, valued atabout$8,000, w asa big success, covered in the local new sm edia, and w ith a truck donated by UPS through a m em berof#2477.
