Situated in Santa Barbara County along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway, Lompoc is called the “City of Arts and Flowers.” More than half of the world’s flower seeds are grown in the fields around Lompoc.

Visitors enjoy all things nature from bird watching, bicycling, enjoying the nearby beaches, to shopping, flower tours, art galleries, museums, camping, antiquing, and even skydiving! Lompoc also boasts being the home to Vandenberg Air Force Base, one the nation’s most important military and space installations and offers private base tours with reservations.

The Pacific Ocean is only 9 miles from downtown Lompoc. The Santa Ynez River (dry most of the year) runs east to west through the Valley while Burton Mesa, a chaparral forest with sandy soil, lies to the north. The hills to the south are mined for diatomaceous (fossil) earth.

Lompoc Hoteliers Report Increase in TOTLompoc Hoteliers Report Increase in TOTLompoc hoteliers have confirmed thatthe occupancy rate is up 14% so far in2015 compared to 2014, based onTransient Occupancy Tax (TOT) reportsfrom the city of Lompoc, Januarythrough June. This increase appears tobe on par with – or ahead of – TOTtrends for other cities in the region.

“We’re excited to see this increase in Lompoc, and that we are capturing our fairshare of overnight visitors to the Central Coast region,” said Paul Patel, President ofVisit Lompoc LLC (dba Explore Lompoc). “We have great plans in place for fall, andlook forward to a strong finish for 2015.”
