Ink contamination in rotogravure and flexographic printing
Problem
Contamination of ink is a very common problem in rotogravure and flexographic printing. The ink gets
contaminated due to 3 major sources – air (dust and fiber), doctor blades (metallic particles), and ink (dried
ink pigments). The presence of these contaminants in ink affects the printing by reducing the print quality and
lowering the life of doctor blades.
Solution
Valflow®
ink filters provide a perfect solution for delivering clean ink to the printing process. They have a
simple removable cartridge design and are available in various mesh sizes. A magnetic cap in the filter
removes all ferrous dust in the ink. The Valflow®
ink filters facilitate auto draining in case of centrifugal pump.
Filters with surge suppressor are available for diaphragm pump.
