Frank Buchman, founder of IofC, developed the conviction in 1908 that moral compromise destroys human character and relationships and that moral clarity is a prerequisite for building a just society – founding the Oxford Group in the UK after WWI. As European nations re-arm for war, the Oxford Group calls for 'moral and spiritual re-armament' as the way to build a 'hate-free, fear-free, greed-free world'. After WW II the Caux Conference Center in Switzerland works on conflict transformation around the world. During and immediately after the Civil War in Lebanon, Moral Rearmament attempted to bring former combatants together to rebuild the country based on absolute human values. IofC organized secretly tens of Dialogue sessions joining politicians, clergymen, media responsibles and normal citizens from all sides. Personal change – based on absolute love, unselfishness, honesty, and purity – lays the foundation for societal transformation. www.iofc.org InitiativesOfChangeLebanon @IofCLebanon Photos Copyright Karl Steinocher Foundation Konrad Adenauer (centre) at the Caux assembly, September 1948, where he asked Buchman to work in Germany.

Interfaith dialogue in Lebanon

Truth-telling & Transformation -History Hike 2013

were inspired by the IofC Creators of Peace program to start the

LinaLtaki movement in Lebanon, built on the experience of CoP Peace Circles

from around the world.

I have read in my dull grey textbooks about Musa ler. Walking up Musa Dagh, I will be able

to form a potent emotional\spiritual bond with my grandfathers. Being more fortunate than

the non-survivors of the genocide, I feel it’s my obligation to keep the torch lit and

remember all who fell in Musa Dagh. This trip is going to be a life changing

experience and a journey of self-discovery.”

Caux Round Table – Moral Capitalism at Work

As a business student, I’ve always learnt that making profit is our first goal and our number one achievement, and sometimes, to reach it, we

have to cross certain limits and be unethical. After living this life-changing experience in Caux, my life turned upside down

and I’ve started to see many things in different points of view. The main challenge for me was mixing between both profit and ethics.
