ACTORS:

When discussing who we would like to feature in our music videos and become our actors, it took a lot of decision making and deciding who would fit the role the best. We ideally wanted a youthful looking person our age who would bring life to the narrative and at the same time actually be willing to participate in our filming. It is a real issue finding helpful people that would be sure to be dedicated to your filming project right until the end. With this in mind, we selected 8 final options for our actors.

CAMERA ANGLES:

 - Lots of ECU, close ups and zooms (e.g faces, objects which are relative to the lyrics within the music).

 - Low angle of actor to demonstrate power and 'youth' as if they’re 'on top of the world' (a little cliché.

 - Over the shoulder shot of people looking at 'youth' as if they believe they are naïve and inferior. It also acts as a point of view shot to make people come to the realisation of how youth feel.

 - Not tightly framed to show youth as being extravagant and 'big' in some respects.

CAMERA ANGLES (CONTINUED):

- Panning of locations to show surroundings and therefore our representation of youth.

 - We will need to think in depth about framing because if there is a lot of elements in the scene it could represent youth as being crowded and stressful. However, the music video will need to include a happy connotation.

REPRESENTATION:

- We think it is important to have a representation that we can play on and possibly use it to portray how the majority of youth do not follow the stereotype of youth crime, hooliganism, alcohol abuse, unemployment etc. However I think that the music video should show, in a respect, 'how the other half live' and almost show our side of the story.

LOCATION:

We are going to make use of the locations around our area which means filming our music video in both urban and rural areas. This is because it will fit in and make the mise en scene interesting to notice with the constant changes in location.

Urban Area Ideas

• Thornbury• Bristol• Shopping Centre• Alleyways in Bristol with graffiti or art work in shot• Tight streets in Thornbury with houses and cars in shots• Potential Props: Phone Boxes, cars, lamp posts, letter boxes

COSTUME:

The costume or clothing will most likely be winter clothing due to the time of year we will be filming in (practicality). However depending on the lyrics of the song the clothing may change. But predominantly it will be winter clothing as we want to flip the cold depressing weather on it's head and make it fun whilst the people in the shots are cold and supposed to be having a rubbish time. This adds to the positive theme and vibe of the video and the lyrics.
