Initial Brand Development (Phase 1)

This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

The selection of logos in this document have already been on a journey - having been sifted through DDT/Marketing reviews. We’d like to find out what you like and don’t like about the logos supplied so we can fine-tune the concepts.

With your feedback we can hone in on the branding of the ComplianceServes’ website, assets, branding colour palette and marketing materials (Phase 2). The submission of Branding guidelines will be the final stage (Phase 3) for the products designers.

Compliance Serve

Full brand brief

“ComplianceServe is a product in the Unicorn family but should have its own brand identity. It would be good to see some options which use elements of our current brand and some where our current brand it less obvious. Ultimately the correct design will link the brand to Unicorn but not copy it. For example having different colours but using a variation on the SkillsServe logo.”

What we need from you

Please look at our starting ideas and let us know the following:   • Your favourite logos (what do you like and not like about

them?)

• Your thoughts on the colour pallet for the proposed logo.

• Your favourite 3 tag lines (let us know if you think they are perfect or still need some work)

Logo Palette

Differing logos have been supplied in the following colours. The three purple, pink and raspberry colours are current Unicorn Brand Safe colours and the blue is a wildcard. I would recommend using the Unicorn purple (first one below). The reasoning for this is it differentiates itself away from the main Unicorn Branding but still remains in the Unicorn family of colours.

Once the colour of the logo is defined we can then choose the colour palette for the full brand brief. The logo examples in this document have been put in situ but please note that the mocked-up examples of marketing materials and websites are at this stage loose and by no means finished.

Option 1

“The tennis ball”

Page 6: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 1

The tennis ball

The tennis ball is curvy and friendly - yet it has killer visual punch.

It looks great on white and black.

The logo has same font as both Unicorn and SkillsServe logo and the Icon can be used as a recognisable badge throughout all materials. (see next screen).

This logo works with existing Unicorn branding as it also uses negative white space cut in a solid coloured circle.

Option 1

The tennis ball

This is just an example banner and top bar with this proposed logo in situ, once we have your views and agree on a brand then the site will  be designed to that branding.

Option 1

The tennis ball library badges

The ComplianceServe catalogue is made up of the following 4 Unicorn libraries; Financial Crime,  Direct Debit, Mortgage and Regulatory. So that our clients understand that these libraries are linked within the ComplianceServe brand we could include the logo or an element of it within the existing Unicorn content speech bubbles in the catalogue.

Page 9: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 1

The tennis ball Marketing Materials

The shape of this logo allows for a lot of curvy/round design in all marketing materials. See examples.

Photography style should be the same as Unicorn main branding except it takes more a corporate slant – so Business Lifestyle – as shown in example. Depth of field blur is recommended on the imagery so that the secondary font ‘Jenna Sue’ is easily readable. This will keep this brand tightly linked to Unicorns main branding.

Option 2

“The tag”

Page 11: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 2

The tag

The tag is a simple but effective logo. Its quite quirky and fun and will be good for marketing materials.

The logo has same font as both Unicorn and SkillsServe logo.

This logo works with existing Unicorn branding as it also uses negative white space cut in a solid coloured object.

Option 2

The tag

The coloured bars have been changed to a teal colour on these mock-ups just to show different colour systems.

Option 2

The tag library badges

The ComplianceServe catalogue is made up of the following 4 Unicorn libraries; Financial Crime,  Direct Debit, Mortgage and Regulatory. So that our clients understand that these libraries are linked within the ComplianceServe brand we could include the logo or an element of it within the existing Unicorn content speech bubbles in the catalogue.

Option 2

The tag Marketing Materials

The shape of this logo allows you to use the speech bubble shape to emphasize objects/phrases. See examples.

Option 3

“The pin”

Page 16: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 3

The pin

I like the way this one plays with the little dot of the i.

Its very close to our other logos but definitely has its own style.

The icon is shaped like a pin and is the shape of a letter C. The pin is supposed to connote the feeling that this is a one-stop shop – everything in one place.

The L letter has been amended to follow the shape of the icon.

The font is the same to other Unicorn logos.

Option 3

The pin Marketing Materials

The shape of this logo allows you to use the speech bubble shape to emphasize objects/phrases. See examples.

This style of logo allows more use of info-graphic styled graphics fused with sharp business lifestyle photography. Please see examples.

Only issue with this is that marketing materials take a while to create in this style but do look great.

Option 4

“Blocks”

Page 21: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 4

Blocks

This is a more straight-edged corporate design.

The blocks symbolise storage working with the theme that ComplianceServe is ‘everything in one place’.

It has the same font as the Unicorn and SkillsServe logo.

Option 4

Blocks Marketing Materials

The shape of this logo sets the tone for the branding to be more grid based (boxy).

Grid based design is much more disciplined and corporate. It tends to be a bit colder, regimented and serious, because of this any fun tends to be zapped out of it.

The positives are it is clean and structured and may appeal more to ComplianceServes’ audience.

Page 25: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 5

“The shield”

Page 26: Initial Brand Development (Phase 1) This document has been created so we can ascertain preferences in terms of ComplianceServes’ logo and colour palette.

Option 5

The shield

This logo looks solid and safe. It has the C and S and unlike the others has gradients of colour.

This has moved away from the style of usual Unicorn logos, however, it still has the same font.

It looks like a shield and will work great as a badge – but is it too different?

The negative aspect of this logo as it currently is, is that it takes up a lot of vertical space. We could try the icon so it falls to the left of the text.

Option 5

The shield Marketing Materials

The shape of this logo sets the tone for strong visuals that emphasize the point.

Its diagonal shapes offers more possibilities in terms of marketing materials and the use of solid colour. Please see examples.

This logos a little more edgy and less corporate so the marketing can be a little more respective of this.
