Allow me to introduce myself.

What is the IHDA?

• The In-House Design Association (IHDA) is an organization serving the needs and interests of in-house graphic designers.

• There are other organizations out there that serve this community (UAF, AIGA) but none focus on the unique issues and projects in-house designers face.

• This organization will provide a place for like minded creatives to explore issues, provide an outlet, and build a strong community of this sector.

How is the IHDA different?

The In-House Design Association (IHDA) is different than the other professional organizations serving this market in the following ways:

• Lower membership dues. Other local organizations charge as high as $300/year and much of this money is spent at the national level. IHDA membership dues will stay with the chapter and directly benefit the members that pay these dues.

Page 5: inHouse Design Association - Initial Presentation

How is the IHDA different?

• Targeted content. In-house designers face projects, clients, budgets, and choices that their counter parts at design and advertising agencies do not. The IHDA seeks to create competitions, activities, and communications that address these aspects.

• Transparent Accounting. All income and expenses of the IHDA will be disclosed freely to the membership.

Page 6: inHouse Design Association - Initial Presentation

How is the IHDA different?

• Member/Board of Director relationships. IHDA board members must stay in contact with our membership base and be responsive and proactive.

• Website as the hub of activity. The IHDA website will serve as the main hub of activity and communication. This site must remain relevant and up to date.

Page 7: inHouse Design Association - Initial Presentation

How is the IHDA different?

• Realistic event timing. Many in-house designers love their jobs, but they also love their families and outside-work lives. Events will generally be held during the day instead of taking up valuable time at night.

• Positive messaging. The IHDA will strive to always speak of in-house designers, external or internal clients, other organizations, etc in a positive light.

The mission of the In-House Design Association is to create a sustainable

organization promoting the interests of in-house designers, both in business

and in the design community.

Mission of the Founder.

I want to create a sustainable organization promoting the interests of in-house designers, both in business and in the design community.

Using my experience in business and on the board of directors for the AIGA I will help to create an organization that is fun, sustainable and profitable. I will do this by clearly defining organizational roles, features, activities, opportunities and meetings to ensure that board members and organization members have their expectations met or exceeded.
