Dear employees,

As you see the new edition of our company newsletter, which we have named “IngSight – The magazine for Engineers and Architects “.

Suggested by the name, the newslet-ter is aimed at engineers and archi-tects and offers you and supplemen-tary your families, your customers and suppliers too, a closer view into the Dorsch World.

Not only the name is new, addition-ally we want to implement fixed rubrics such as a guest article and an interview with a Dorsch employee, too. Hence we are proud of winning Dr. Thomas Bach, president of the Ghorfa, the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry e.V., as our guest author. Our questions for the interview were kindly replied by Miss Swapnali Kulkarni, Management Trainee from Mumbai.

But there will be proved structures too: As always, fascinating articles from all countries in which the Dorsch Gruppe has managed and realized projects have reached us. These projects have shown us how diversified the know-how of our architects and engineers is and how committed our employees abroad are working. In the meantime, we are managing ,500 projects worldwide and we are achieving about 70 per-cent turnover abroad or with foreign projects. The increase in turnover of almost twelve percent (,76%) in 2008 (previous year +7,5%) shows us, that we are not only surviving the economical crisis but continue almost unaffected on our way to success.

With these results the Dorsch Gruppe keeps its positive growth in business volume. It is clear, that this is nothing to rest on our laurels: Change proc-esses will be in fact necessary in order to support developing the Dorsch Gruppe as leading planning services provider and in achieving a clear position in the global market.

Due to closer cooperation, we achieve a stronger competitive posi-tion and are able to realize synergies over all projects. We have been ob-serving a trend for a long time, that individual projects are getting bigger and clients trend to tender increas-ingly larger consulting packages.

The role of the “Mega Planner”, pro-viding all services over all phases at one interface, coordinating all parties involved in the planning process, is already managed by companies like Dorsch Gruppe.

Complementary integration of project management, master and urban planning, architectural, marine and infrastructural planning as well as the cooperation in international project developments within the Dorsch Gruppe by its dedicated pro-fessional teams provide the Dorsch Gruppe with a significant competitive advantage on an international level.

Enjoy reading our newsletter – just send us your comments and sugges-tions, as you please. We are happy to hear from you.

Yours Jürgen Röder and Olaf Hoffmann Shareholders Dorsch Gruppe

• Higher involvement of the private sector using performance contract-ing as a standard method has to be introduced in operations, mainte-nance and customer management;

• Removing internal inefficiencies in water utility services requires grass root work and has to cover all business activities on all levels of a utility. The needed business re-en-gineering has to be supported by top management levels.

With top management support from the Jordanian Water Ministry, KfW and GTZ, the Regional Office Amman acquired three projects in 2008 for testing the paradigm change:

. Public Private Partnership project NRW reduction Ain Basha,

aiming to reduce real (physical) water losses by focusing on the

house connections and tertiary networks, and applying methods and technologies resulting in tar-geted repairs, high quality work-manship and quick response times. This project is jointly funded by GTZ and DCWE.

2. Improvement of Energy Efficiency (IEE) through assessment of pump efficiency, pump operation and identification of energy saving po-tential in selected pumping stations

of WAJ in the Middle Governorates of Jordan. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Environment (BMU) and part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).

. Water Management Middle Gover-norates of Jordan, with the objec-tive to test a comprehensive, bot-tom up approach for NRW reduc-tion in a reference area of 2.000 customers in the city of Zarqa. The investment costs are covered by WAJ and KfW, incentives for the performance based NRW reduction are covered by WAJ.

The results achieved in these projects reinforce and justify our claim for the pressing need to initiate a paradigm change in NRW reduction, as the NRW in the PPP project Ain Basha (without touching the apparent (administrative) water losses) was reduced from 48% to about 0% within one year.

This was achieved with very lit-tle investments, and assisted by an automated pressure management system provided through VAG under a separate PPP project.

On the energy efficiency in pump-ing operations, a saving potential of more than 20% was identified, and

Regional Office Amman - business opportunities for water management

Efficiency improvement of water utility companies in the Middle East

The DCWE Regional Office Amman continued its drive to open up and address new business opportunities in an environment, characterized by cautious clients and donors, increas-ing bureaucracy, stagnant invest-ments in our traditional engineering consultancy, but on the other hand an increasing demand in consultancy for climate change related projects and efficiency improvement in water utilities.

Major challenge to most public water utilities is the inefficiency of services, caused by rigid civil service rules and inadequate remuneration. Incentive or performance related services virtu-ally do not exist.

The Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ), assisted by massive donor sup-port, over the past 5 years invested around billion EUR to improve the water supply services to its popula-tion, but two of the key perform-ance indicators, i.e. the Non Revenue Water (NRW) and the operating ratio did not significantly improve.

This is a disaster itself, and seems to be carefully hidden from public media not only in Jordan, but as well in the donor countries.

Only where the private sector was involved, some progress has been achieved.

Our analysis after 5 years commit-ment in the Jordanian water sector clearly shows:

• Without a paradigm change in the water loss reduction approach of WAJ and donors, moving away from a down, supply side to a bottom up demand side approach, NRW cannot be reduced further;

concepts for involving the private sector to cover the needed invest-ments developed. If the subsidies on the electricity tariff are removed, WAJ could modernize its pumping stations completely through the private sector and introduce an effective life cycle management.

The comprehensive approach for NRW reduction in Zarqa city is still under testing, delayed by typical bureaucratic hurdles in the procure-ment process.

However, results from other PSP projects for outsourcing customer management in Madaba Governorate of Jordan are most impressive, the cash collections have been increased by more than 70% in two years.

Such results are slowly penetrating into the minds of the responsible people in the donor agencies and prompting large scale investments into the NRW reduction.

KfW is providing approx. € 70 million for performance based water loss reduction projects in Jordan, the Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the US Government another US$ 9 million for the city of Zarqa, and possibly € 20 million might be provided by BMU / KfW / WAJ for energy saving projects.

We are positively surprised by such reaction and started expanding our office activities and personnel to cover the upcoming workload.

Two new staff members are reinforc-ing our excellent team of Jordanian, German, Syrian, Egyptian and Yemeni experts, i.e. Dipl.-Ing. Wil-helm Tischendorf initially for the en-ergy efficiency activities since st of July and Dipl.-Ing.(FH) Philipp Ditzel, who as well holds a Masters Degree on Public Management and Govern-ance since st of September.

We are confident that they will contribute to the further growth and competence of our Amman team, and intensify our activities with hope-fully new projects to be acquired before the end of 2009.

Congratulations on your 10th em-ployment anniversary, Keith Brooke!

At the beginning of July Keith Brooke, office manager of DC Water and Environment in Cairo, celebrated his 0th Dorsch employment anniversary.

His colleagues in Cairo organized a fancy cake for this momentous occa-sion, which was cut by the jubilarian himself and then enjoyed together.

As a self-evident and visually out-standing motive for the cake, his colleagues chose the sewage plant of Helwan.

The originally planned addition of strictly biologically processed sludge, in order to commensurably empha-size the high quality of our work also in matters of taste, failed because of the pastry chef‘s refusal to ad some-how unspecified ingredients.

Notwithstanding this, all colleagues declared though, the cake was very tasty.

Study trip to the Waste Water Treatment Plant Gabal Asfar, Cairo

On 2nd September 2009, some mem-bers of the Cairo Office visited the biggest Waste Water Treatment Plant of Cairo and the Middle East.

It has a capacity of .2 million m per day which conforms to the waste-water of approximately 2 million inhabitants per day.

Some interesting facts:• The area of the site is equal to 550

football pitches.• The inlet channel has dimensions

.0 m x .0 m.• The capacity of each aeration tank

is equivalent to 50 Olympic swim-ming pools. There are 20 aeration tanks with a size of 40 m x 7 m each.

• The generators are capable of pro-ducing enough electricity to ran an average town.

• 60 to 70 % of the energy demand (tot. 26.6 MW) is generated by biogas of the sludge.

• The total volume of reinforced concrete poured is .56 million tons and corresponds to one third of the Great Pyramid at Giza.

Unfortunately it was forbidden to take pictures on the plant because of “security reasons”, but all attendants got a very good impression of the structures and the equipment, well guided by Mechanical Engineer Robin Bakewell (picture above, back row, 2nd from left) who has been working on this site some years ago.

Joint fast breaking at DC Water and Environment Cairo

At DC Water and Environment office in Cairo the traditional fast braking during Ramadan has always been celebrated with guests. This year, for the first time, a joint celebration has been organized for both DCWE of-fices in Cairo.

Keith Brooke‘s and Heiner Röttger‘s teams celebrated together with 90 guests, partners and employees of both offices. The guest list also

included colleagues from Utilities Cairo and business partners from KfW and GAEB.

Mr. Röttgers (back row, 4th from left), with his team, is responsible for the school programme in Egypt (NILE and PSCP), while Mr. Brooke (bot-tom row, rd from right) is the office manager in charge of the further local DCWE projects.

Release of BaSYS-HydroCAD longterm series- and polluting load calculation

DC Water and Environment has fin-ished the development of a software tool, which can model the pollut-ing load distribution in urban sewer systems.

The development started in 2004. The co-operation partner Barthauer Software implemented this module in the HydroCAD application, which is software to hydrodynamically model the flow in sewer systems. HydroCAD was developed by DCW&E in the 70s.

After an intensive phase of testing the new software was approved to be released by DCW&E in August 2009.

A representative combined waste wa-ter and rain water sewer system was defined with all relevant objects for a polluting load calculation in order to test the software. A 0-year precipi-tation time series was imported for the test. Two engineering consulting firms are currently working with the new software.

Ringroad tunnel “Mittlerer Ring” Southwest, Munich, Germany

In the beginning of August 2009, the construction of the tunnelling for a crossroads-free “Mittlerer Ring” ringroad in Munich started in the south western section. The tunnelling solution, which is under construc-tion, is based on various analyses of options (999), which differ in tunnel lengths and above ground links. The design services for “Mittlerer Ring” Southwest include: • Tunnel Garmischer Strasse / Luise-

Kiesselbach-Platz, length ,500 m• Cross section, 2 tubes, lanes each• Trench Heckenstallerstrasse, length

400 m, 2 carriageways, lanes each• Tunnel Heckenstallerstraße, length

ling (noise insulation) for tunnel and ramp, traffic facilities for road expan-sion of tunnel and above ground, and also provisional traffic routing during construction period (construc-tion costs approx. € 7 million).

In July 2002, the ,500 m long Petuel-tunnel (construction costs € 200 million) was opened in the course of the “Mittlerer Ring”, in which Dorsch participated with the above men-tioned scope of project services.

as the future subjects of Health and Education. Because of the fact, that in business relations especially with Arabian partners personal contacts play an important role, the Ghorfa has organized periodically delegation trips into the region.

In addition, the Ghorfa informs its members with a monthly newslet-ter, the quarterly business magazine SOUQ as well as with country-specific manuals of juridical and eco-nomical developments in all Arabian countries. Besides, the Ghorfa allows her members a prompt access to public and private tenders from the region.

It is my firm conviction that the Arabian market will gain in impor-tance for German business. A suit-able positioning would improve future prospects of these enterprises and with it also the whole German economy with lasting effect. The Dorsch Gruppe is an excellent example for this.

German Know-how widely asked in Arabian countries

The Ghorfa is bridging into the Arabian world

Business development in the Arabian states turns out in the current economic situation of a global trade weakness as a reas-suring factor. The German exports into the Arabian world have risen in 2008 to a record value of 28 billion EUR. This triples the volume within only ten years. Meanwhile more products “Made in Germany“ are exported into the Arabian countries as to Latin America or the ASEAN states. The Dorsch Gruppe has early identified the huge potential of the Arabian market and has positioned itself there very well. Activities in this region have decisively contributed to the gratifying business development in 2008.

Nevertheless, the majority of Ger-man companies does not tap the huge potentials of the German-Arabian economic relations widely yet. The technological expertise of the German industrial and service economy meets in an ideal manner the needs of modernisation in the Arabian countries. Nearly all Arabian countries speed up the diversifica-tion of their national economies. The Arabian states rich in resource use the current “window of opportunity“ of high oil and gas prices and invest massively in construction and devel-opment of other industrial branches.

The special expertise and the excel-lent reputation of German products in the Arabian region are for Ger-man enterprises a perfect base for

starting and developing of business relations to the region. On the 2th German-Arabian economic forum of the Ghorfa in Berlin the Iraqi gov-ernment spokesman Ali Aldabbagh called “Germany a preferred partner of the Iraqi government for the eco-nomic reconstruction“.

German enterprises should use the commercial chances arising from it actively. For this, it is eminent to limit this not only to the bare exchange of commodities. Just in times like these, strategically partnerships mark the special value and lastingness for all parties and promise for both sides the greatest possible success. Also newer cooperation forms as Public-Private-Partnerships and BOT models belong to it.

The Ghorfa understands its role as bridging partner into the Arabian world. Thanks to the sponsorship by the Arabian Chambers of Indus-try and Commerce or the general union of the chambers for industry, trade and agriculture in the Arabian countries, its close cooperation with the Arabian league and the Arabian embassies in Germany, it has excel-lent contacts at political and eco-nomic level.

Ghorfa members have benefits in varied manner from this excellent network. Thus the yearly German-Arabian economic forum has devel-oped to the most important event of this kind in Germany. More than 800 high-ranking participants made this year on the -day event first contacts and intensified existing relations. The Ghorfa has gradually developed its events in the last years with focused forums to the area of Tourism as well

Miss Swapnali Kulkarni, DC India

• What is your position in Dorsch and how long have you been working with Dorsch?

I am working with Dorsch India as a Management Trainee.

I am working here for more than a year now and I must say its really been a remarkable and wonderful journey.

• Where did you study? What is your qualification?

After earning Bachelors degree from University of Mumbai, I did Masters in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing. After completing Masters I joined Dorsch and got real corporate exposure while working with Dorsch.

• What is your current project?

Presently I am working on one of the significant project “Strategy study for natural gas in the State of Maharash-tra”.

• Are you really proud of this project?

I must say I am really fortunate to get an opportunity to work on such

Interview

DC India project for GSPC Bhavan

an amazing project at very early and starting stage of my career. I really have learned a lot.

• Why are you proud of this project and details of the project?

As I am saying, it is an amazing and significant project because it is one of its projects in the oil and gas sector in India. This is a very planned and structured approach taken for the development of gas infrastructure for the first time by any state in India.

I will share more details about the project. Dorsch India is working as a consultant to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for development of gas infrastructure in the state. We took a very structured and three fold approach and divided it in three phases – Demand study, Supply study and Development of Master plan.

In the first phase we evaluated the current as well as projected gas demand for next 2 years in the state covering all the districts. The demand study evaluated Industrial demand covering demand from MIDC estates, industries located outside MIDC estates and bulk demand generated by energy intensive sectors such as Power, Captive Power, Fertiliz-ers and Petrochemical and refineries.

The non industrial demand covered residential, transportation and com-mercial demand. The total demand potential for natural gas in state is evaluated to be 40 MMSCMD. Out of 40 MMSCMD the share of demand from MIDC estates is approximately 25% i.e. 0 MMSCMD.

This involved a lot of data compila-tion and data analysis work followed by generating demand map, demand study reports and presentations for the client.

After such an exhaustive and com-prehensive demand study, as a part of supply study we studied the current gas supply scenario and gas

infrastructure available in the state. Interactions were held with major gas players in the country to know their near future plans for the state of Maharashtra and willingness to widen their presence in the state.

The Government regulations govern-ing the gas sector in India were also studied. Based on such extensive sector research a supply map was developed followed by a supply study report and presentations for MIDC.

Now demand as well as supply study is complete. In the process several discussions were held with top man-agement personnel in MIDC, Indus-tries Secretary of the state and other concerned Government officials.

MIDC invited Expression of Interests (EOI) from the interested companies as a strategic partner to MIDC for development of gas infrastructure in the state. Dorsch rendered its services in EOI invitation process to MIDC by drafting a detailed document inviting the EOIs as well as an advertisement to be published in newspapers, send-ing distinctive letters to all major gas companies to invite them to submit EOI, resolving and responding to the queries of interested companies etc.

MIDC has received an excellent response from the gas companies including the major gas players from the sector.

Now this project has reached to a very critical stage and I am really proud to be associated with it right since the beginning. In the first phase we expect to have a gas distribution network at 0 locations where major MIDC estates are located. The total

demand at these 0 locations is more than 0 mmscmd and the demand at each of these locations is more than 00,000 scmd.

• Did you learn a lot at Dorsch?

Really a lot. The journey with Dorsch India has been full of learning new things, diverse experience and a real corporate exposure.

• How are you sharing “Innovation and problem solving approach” culture of Dorsch India?

The innovation and problem solving approach of Dorsch India is appreci-ated by every client of Dorsch. Even in the gas infrastructure development project in Maharashtra, at a certain point, the MIDC and government was apprehensive about the prob-able response of gas companies to this project and the implementation of the project due to some definite reasons.

But as a consultant, Dorsch adopted its unique problem solving approach and now the Government has given a green signal to this project and I am really pleased to tell that MIDC has got an excellent response and has re-ceived EOIs from more or less all the major gas players from the sector.

Now the EOIs received will be evalu-ated and the decision regarding the strategic partner of MIDC for this project will be taken.

• Which assignments did you com-plete with Dorsch?

Apart from gas infrastructure project in Maharashtra, I have been working on the project “Advisory services for developing concept of authorisation for laying, building, operating or expanding natural gas pipelines in MIDC areas”.

As a consultant to MIDC, Dorsch suggested that authorisation from MIDC should be obtained by entities for laying, building operating or

expanding gas pipeline / distribution network in notified MIDC area. This concept was put forward and discussed in the meeting with MIDC and government officials.

MIDC agreed and approved this concept. The standard operating procedure for such authorization has been developed including technical requirements to be followed by the entity while laying gas pipelines in MIDC area, list of essential agree-ments to be entered into between MIDC and applicant entity.

The draft recommendations for this have been submitted to MIDC. This project is in progress.

• Why are you working happily with Dorsch?

It is really the diverse and varied experience I am getting and the job

satisfaction which keeps me happy while working with Dorsch.

A paramount acquisition achieve-ment, distinguishing perseverance and preservation of the extremely good mutual trust between Dorsch and the LBB-Kaiserslautern Branch, has resulted in a design assignment for the new High School.

It all began with the recommenda-tion of the US-school authorities to realize this outstanding project, of special significance for the American Forces in Europe, with the Dorsch Group. The project costs sum up to approx. € 55 million.

The rendered services are comprising architecture, structural design, technical building equipment and interior architecture (performance phases – 6 HOAI).

Airports Martuba and Tubruq, Libya – the Mediterranean Terminals

The two smaller airport terminals (approx. 2,00 m each) Tubruq and Martubah both lie near the Mediterranean Sea in Libya.

Tubruq is a middle-sized town with 0,000 inhabitants near the Egyp-tian frontier in the Northeast of Libya, Martubah has 05,000 inhabit-ants and is located to the Northwest of Tubruq.

Both places have Mediterranean climate (on average 5°-0°/day, 0°-20°/night).

The draft of the terminal plays with a transparent, light design, which is composed of broad windows and has an open, extrovert and welcoming effect.

The amply-dimensioned projecting roof in front of the building with its horizontally organised shadow-creat-ing elements protects from the hot Mediterranean sun and rain.

The clear and simple language of forms is enforced through the light-ness of the glass panels and the linearly organised bright-coloured clay facing tiles.

The cubic entrance building will be cladded with aluminium panels.

The terminal’s name will be graved onto these panels and backlighted by the interior illumination at night.

The aluminium body is to represent the development in the alumimium-coloured airplane construction of the last century.

The Desert Terminals of the Airports Ghat and Kufra

The middle-sized airport terminals (5,500 m² each) Ghat and Kufra are situated in the Sahara desert of Libya. Kufra is an oasis city near the frontier with Egypt in the Southeastern part of Libya, Ghat is in the Southeast of the country directly at the Algerian frontier.

Both places endure extreme climatic conditions (on average 20°-42°/day, 0°-26°/night). The high sun makes light and shadow the protagonists of the terminal buildings‘ architecture.

The speakers put special emphasis on how the different parts of the planning depend on each other and explained that the successful comple-tion of a project already depends on the quality of the data collected at the beginning of a project.

The existing Iraqi data acquisition poses a great problem as data are incompletely collected due to the embargo and the war, and new data can only be partly collected because of the precarious security situation in Iraq.

Not only did the Dorsch staff offer a comprehensive trainee program but also some interesting trips and sightseeing.

The DC staff’s excellent organisation-al skills were proved once more when they helped one of the engineers to get a new fuel pump he needed for his 25 year-old Opel.

Farewell was bid by shaking 27 hands, embracing each other and taking pictures. Probably, the DC Transport project management was one of the most photographed sights of Munich on the day of departure.

Traffic analyses in Wiesbaden and Munich

From May to September DC Transport succeeded in acquiring nine differ-ent projects in consulting services for traffic development, traffic counting, traffic analysis and traffic conception.

This also includes a project in the city of Havixbeck, in North Rhine-Westphalia which maintains DC Transport’s presence in the region of Munsterland.

In Havixbeck traffic prognoses are created for the year 2025 on the basis of traffic countings, and different traffic scenarios are developed in cooperation with the town council.

Traffic routing for Vivaldi Plaza Hotel, Moscow

The project managers of Drees & Sommer are counselling an inves-tor in Moscow on the marketing of a nearly-finished office block. They have entrusted DC Transport Infra-structure with the optimization of the above-ground traffic routing and the organization of the second

level of the underground parking with ,000 parking lots in total. The project also includes the organization of access and exit controls.

Noise studies

On the Köln-Rhein/Main fast railway track, damages resulted from the structural elements‘ fatigue due to the pressure load caused by velocities of 00 km/h impacting on the local noise protection walls. Consequently, the noise protection walls of Züblin have to be sanified. Due to the exist-ing catenary and the drainage pipes they will deviate slightly from the designed run of the noise protection walls. Züblin contracted DC Transport to conduct acoustic studies for ten noise protection walls at the railway line. The studies were based on noise studies conducted by Dorsch between 997 and 2008.

Therefore, the draft hints at the typology of Arabian desert architec-ture.

The typology of the building evolves from the inside to the outside. A large overhanging circumferential roof sets up a second curtain-like layer in front of the actual structure.

The curtain grants cooling shadow in the hot desert sun and the care-fully-placed perforations in it create a beautiful dance of light and shadow inside the terminal.

The small slits on the facade rep-resent the desert landscape. The trespassing light repeats them on the facades on the floors.

The biggest airport terminal, Labraq (6,700 m²), is situated only a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Greek / Roman historical town of Cyrene in Libya.

Labraq Airport is the gateway to the Green Mountains of Shahat.

This airport terminal can be seen as a synonym for the gate to the world historical cultural assets of Cyrene, the Islamic-Arabian culture and the modern world.

The massive ashlar as an illustration of Arabic architecture is combined with elements like “architrave”, “architrave block” and “column” as an allegory for the reduction to the basic elements of modern architec-ture – the separation between vertical and horizontal elements.

The execution with columns and panels in the façade stands for a clear, reduced and significant architectural style.

DC Transport Infrastructure

Iraqi railway engineers visiting DC Transport Infrastructure

For the second time in this year DC Transport Infrastructure had visitors from Iraq in Munich; from July 20th to August 4th nine senior engineers and 8 junior engineers had the opportunity to update their technical knowledge about railway projects.

The training, which is part of the scope of services rendered in the four railway projects consulted by the Dorsch Group, alternately offers lectures of the specialised staff, visit-ing of engineering workshops and ICE trips.

Whereas the projects of Hajama-Sawa and Iraq-Jordan-Link are almost completed, the projects of Basrah-Fao and Ramadi-Kerbala have reached the final run, that is Detailed Design.

The trainees were welcomed by Andrea Pal, COO of DC Transport Infrastructure. Then, the project leaders answered the Iraqi project managers’ questions about the status and the technical details of the projects.

During the following days, the visi-tors were trained in all the fields nec-essary for the planning of railways.

The training included all strategic steps like traffic prognosis, hydrol-ogy, geology, alignment, the operat-ing program and project manage-ment.

Groundbreaking Ceremony at Emscher Interceptor

On September th, 2009 the ground-breaking ceremony for the Emscher inceptor took place in pres-ence of Mr. Jürgen Rüttgers, the premier of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Actually, the Emscher inceptor is the largest project for water manage-ment in Europe. The first construction stage (BA 0) of the project started with the construction of a pump sta-tion (, m³/s; h = 2 m).

The whole system is comprising two large pumping stations and about 55 km of main sewer, the Emscher inceptor.

DC Water and Environment in Essen as the leader of the Emscherkanal Joint Venture is responsible for the detailed design and preparation of the tender documents for about 40 km of the Emscher inceptor (BA , 2 and ), including machinery and electrotechnical equipment. This part of the Emscher inceptor will be constructed with pipe jacking.

The diameters range between DN 600 and DN 2800 at depths between 7 to 5 m.
