ENGLISH I

ACHIVEMENT EXPECTATIONS: By the end of the year the students should be able to :

Use the basic language structures to survive to different real-life situations.

Develop their abilities for understanding simple language.

Write short simple paragraphs.

Develop a positive attitude towards the foreign language and culture.

Be aware of how people in other parts of the world live and behave so as to broaden intellectual horizons and enhance their understanding of foreign cultures.

EVALUATION:

La aprobacin de cada ao lectivo se realiza por medio de dos exmenes parciales y un final oral. El primer parcial en el turno Junio-Julio y el segundo parcial en el turno Noviembre, con sus respectivos recuperatorios. El exmen final est conformado por un llamado en Diciembre y otro en Febrero-Marzo.

Short Stories

Las historias sern elegidas por la profesora de acuerdo al nivel e inters de los alumnos y pueden variar de un curso al otro. Por consiguiente un alumno que debido a algn inconveniente se cambiase de curso deber leer las historias correspondientes al mismo.

SEGUNDO CUATRIMESTRE

INGLES TECNICO

Al finalizar el ciclo el alumno deber ser capaz de:

Usar correctamente el diccionario bilinge. Leer textos cientficos comprensivamente. Reconocer estructuras bsicas del idioma. Reconocer la importancia del idioma ingls como lengua transmisora de conocimientos

cientficos y tcnicos.

CONTENIDOS ACTITUDINALES.

Desarrollo de actitud crtica y reflexiva frente a un texto. Fomentacin de la apertura personal ante las diferencias culturales que implican el

abordar dos lenguas diferentes. Independencia parcial del diccionario. Manejo de tcnicas de lecto-comprensin. Comprensin y aceptacin de la importancia de las ventajas que implica leer textos

originales no traducidos.

CONTENIDOS PROCEDIMENTALES.

Comparar estructuras extranjeras con la lengua materna. Interpretar textos. Usar el diccionario. Contestar preguntas sobre un texto. Interpretar grficos, tablas, diagramas,etc. Identificar las estructuras dadas. Reconocer conatos verdaderos y falsos. Detectar referentes. UNIDAD 1: La oracin simple, su estructura. Sujeto y predicado. Sustantivos: gnero y nmero. Caso posesivo. Artculos: definido e indefinido. omisin. Pronombres personales nominativos y demostrativos. UNIDAD 2: El verbo To be: presente, pasado, futuro y condicional. Afirmativo y negativo, interrogativo. There +be en todos los tiempos. Prediccin. Scanning. Funcin del texto. Language functions. Buenas y malas estrategias de lectura.

UNIDAD 3:

Adjetivos calificativos, posesivos, etc. Posicin atributiva y predicativa. Participios como adjetivos. Adverbios: de modo, de lugar, etc. Su posicin en la oracin. Sufijos y prefijos. Procesos de derivacin.

UNIDAD 4:

Tiempos verbales: presente, pasado, futuro, condicional (simple, continuo y perfecto) Auxiliares modales: must, ought to, should, may, might, needn't, etc.

UNIDAD 5:

Oraciones Coordinadas. Conjunciones: and, but, both, neither, not only, etc. Oraciones complejas. Subordinacin. Clusulas relativas. Casos de omisin del pronombre relativo.

UNIDAD 6:

La voz pasiva. Todos los tiempos. Formas introducidas por It; usos especiales de: do, have, be.

UNIDAD 7: Comparacin de adj. y adverbios: igualdad e inferioridad. El infinitivo. Gerundios.

EVALUACION

La aprobacin de ciclo lectivo se realiza por medio de un exmen parcial y un final escrito. El primer parcial en el turno Mayo u Octubre con sus respectivos recuperatorios. El exmen final est conformado por un llamado en Julio o Diciembre con sus respectivos recuperatorios.

Destreza en el manejo del diccionario y del vocabulario. Actitud crtica frente al texto. Participacin individual y grupal. Cumplimiento de obligaciones diarias. Comprensin adecuada de textos.

EL EXMEN TOEIC

Descripcin

El Test de Ingls para Comunicacin Internacional es un exmen standard diseado para medir la habilidad del estudiante para entender la Lengua Inglesa en situacin de uso cotidiana y de negocios. Es producido por ETS en Princeton, New Jersey, USA entre otros exmenes entre los que se cuentan TOEFL y GRE. Est disponible en ms de 50 pases en todo el mundo y en aos recientes alrededor de 4 millones de personas tomaron el exmen.

Formato

El test tiene formato mltiple choice de cuatro opciones. Est dividido en dos secciones: Comprensin Auditiva y Comprensin Lectora. Toma aproximadamente dos horas en se administrado.

A quines est dirigido

Cualquiera que viaje al exterior por negocios o tome contacto con visitantes internacionales es un posible candidato. Casos tpicos son: empleados de organizaciones internacionales, representantes de ventas, empleados de aduanas y hoteles y hasta alumnos que deseen enriquecer su currculo.

Lugar y Fecha de Administracin

En Argentina se gestiona el lugar y fecha del exmen a travs de Icana, Buenos Aires y de la Delegacin de Extensin Universitaria de la UNNE en Resistencia, Chaco.

Resultados

Los resultados en cada seccin van de 5 a 495 puntos y el total de 10 a 990. Esto refleja niveles que van de Comenzante 1 hasta Avanzado alto.

TOEIC mide el dominio del idioma ingls de Personas Cuyo primer idioma no es el ingls. Ms de 4.000 corporaciones en el mundo Utilizan TOEIC. TOEIC Fue diseado para Diagnosticar la comprensin oral y escrita del ingls.

2 - Quin lo diseo? De ETS, Educational Testing Service, es la organizacin lder en investigacin educativa y procesos de evaluacin. ETS TOEIC disea desde 1979.

3 - Quines lo utilizan? Empresas Nacionales y multinacionales, escuelas de negocios, universidades, instituciones educativas y Centros de idioma Utilizan TOEIC como una prueba confiable, objetiva y Eficaz de acreditacin del manejo del ingls.

4 - Para qu sirve el TOEIC? Corporativo Contexto: :: Seleccionar, reclutar y Promover a los empleados segn su nivel de ingls. :: Seleccionar participantes para programas, entrenamientos y seminarios en ingls. :: Implementar un estndar comn de dominio del ingls A nivel local e internacional. :: Insertar una herramienta de Auditora Acadmica para el monitoreo de los Programas de ingls que se dictan en la empresa. 5 - En qu consiste el TOEIC? TOEIC Esta compuesto por 200 preguntas de opcin mltiple divididas en dos secciones: COMPRENSIN AUDITIVA: 100 preguntas Basadas en segmentos grabados: PARTE 1: Fotos. PARTE 2: Preguntas y respuestas. PARTE 3: Dilogos cortos. Parte 4: Conversaciones y presentaciones. COMPRENSIN DE LECTURA: 100 preguntas sobre Conocimientos gramaticales y comprensin de textos. 5: PARTE Oraciones incompletas. Parte 6: Reconocimiento de errores. Parte 7: Comprensin de lectura.

6 - Cul es el puntaje de TOEIC? El puntaje de TOEIC va de 10 a 990 puntos. Dividido en Niveles de la siguiente forma:

Elemental de 10 a 215 Elemental Superior 220 A 465 Intermedio 470 a 725 Intermedio Superior 730 a 855 Avanzado 860 a 990

7 - Cmo Prepararse para el TOEIC?

En la Delegacion Corrientes de Extension Universitaria se dicta un Curso Anual de Preparacin para el Exmen TOEIC dictado por el Profesor David Miqueri y los alumnos pueden rendir el exmen en la Delegacion Resistencia en Noviembre de cada ao con un costo aproximado de 50 dolares estadounidenses.
