Comprising of 4 separate lodges,
namely Chetwynd, Talbot, Mares Hall
and Diamond, which a total capacity of
24 people.
Ingestre Lodges benefits from being
within easy driving distance of many
local attractions. The grounds of
Ingestre Hall, landscaped by Lancelot
”Capability” Brown in the 18thCentury
are now home to Ingestre Park Golf
Club.
The Lodges are set in the beautiful Grade II
Listed New Stables building, part of the Earl
of Shrewsbury’s estate and still a traditional
English Estate village with Hall, Church,
Farm house, cottages and surrounding by
fields.
Chetwynd Lodge sleeps 8 people, with
three bedrooms on the ground floor and
one first floor master bedroom – includes
three bathrooms, two of them ensuite.
We offer a unique and luxurious boutique
self-catering guest accommodation with
four stunning properties, styled in an
elegant way by Oscar Winning Designer
Luciana Arrighi who designed many well-
known costume dramas. Many pieces of the
furniture have come from films including
Anna & the King, Women in Love, Sense
and Sensibility and Howard’s End.
The Lodges have been designed with
conservation in mind and retain many
original features of the beautiful Victorian
building, which have all been painstakingly
restored. Grand ceiling heights, oak
panelling, sandstone corbels, cedar wood
beams, ironwork and original tiling combine
to make the Lodges a totally unique place
to stay

tree) lies in the heart of the Staffordshire
countryside on the edge of the Cannock
Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Shugbourough Hall, the ancestral home of

Ingestre Lodges is in the village of
Ingestre, which lies three miles to the
east of Stafford. Ingestre has excellent
road and rail links to the rest of Great
Britain. The M6 motorway gives easy
access to the North, South-east and
South-west of England. Birmingham
and Manchester airports are within an
hour’s travelling time.
Stafford railway station lies on the West
Coast main line, 100 minutes from London
Euston.
Follow brown signs to ‘Ingestre Stables’
which can be found on the outskirts of roads
out of Stafford on the Weston Road junction,
or along the Tixall Road from either Stafford
or Great Haywood.
Turn off the Tixall Road following signs for
Ingestre and Golf Club,Stables, Church and
Hall and drive along the lane for 3 minutes
passing the Lion Lodges gatehouses on your
immediate left and continuing on past the
Ingestre Park Golf Club. Follow signs to
Stables, Church, Hall at the bend of the
road and up a slight slope towards the New
Stables building which is also the home to
Ingestre Stables. The property is a grand
Victorian building with grass verges and
balustrades. Please see our website for what

It is on the left and further up the hill is the
Old Stables, the Church and Ingestre Hall
which is up the slope just out of sight. A row
of balustrades fronts the road and in front of
you there is a large archway with rampant
stone lions and a coat of arms and large
wrought iron gates. Drive through the gates
and archway.
Car Parking and Entrance. Once through the
gates, turn left and drive to the left of the
courtyard grass circle. You will see a range
of buildings with an approach of standard
roses and a couple of lollipop box trees.
There is signage that says ‘Ingestre Lodges
parking reserved for Guests only’. Park
anywhere in the gravelled areas alongside
the building. There are sensor activated
lights that will light up as you park in the
evening to help you see!
Arrival
Chetwynd Lodge & Talbot Lodge
Both Lodges sleep 8 people, withTalbot a mirror image ofChetwynd’s layout.
Once you have the keys, the frontdoor is opened with the top lock andsmaller key. The entrance is allground floor level and the door opensto a large, double height space withplenty of room to manoeuvre luggage,buggies and all wheelchairs through.
The width of the front door is1200mm.
There are 3 lights switches on theright by the front door. These can beturned on immediately to light thedifferent zones so that there is nostumbling in the dark!
There is a Guests Welcome Book onthe kitchen worktop with a guidedtour of facilities, instructions forappliances and TV instructions, Wificodes etc.
Living/dining space
The living and dining space are allopen plan and on the ground floor.The space is large enough to allowfree movement between the differentzones.
The flooring is the original Victorianbrickette from 1886 and is part of the
historic character of the building. Inplaces it may be uneven as it is 125years old. The furniture on the groundfloor is: Two Chesterfield 3 seatersofas and one 2 seater sofa. Diningtable that seats 8 people, a settle, 3bar stools and a Moroccan armchair.The living/ dining areas are originalflooring with large sisal and seagrassrugs overlaid.
There are 3 very high windows withgreen silk curtains in the living area.The windows can be opened from thelower part and have brass catches.The dining area has a large, highrosewood table with legs on each sidewith eight broad high backed chairs.
Bedrooms
Once past the living area and alongthe corridor there are 3 downstairsbedroom suitable for mobilityrestricted guests. The last bedroomalong has an ensuite shower roomwith doors cleared to both bedroomand shower room of 90 cm inaccordance with Part M of BuildingRegulations for level access. Alldownstairs bedrooms have curtains,bedside tables, bedside lamps andover head lights. Each downstairsbedroom has a double bed fitted withmattress and pillow protectors. Alllinen is included and ready preparedfor guests arrival. Two downstairs
bedrooms have a TV with freeview
built in and built in DVD players. Two
bedrooms have wardrobes and the
middle bedroom has a wooden clothes
rail. Each downstairs room has a
selection of oak smoking chairs with
cushions. The bedrooms have the
original flooring with sisal rugs in each
room. The corridor is original flooring
with sisal rugs over.
Bathrooms
There are two bathrooms on the
ground floor. One is a family
bathroom with pea-bath and shower.
There are no handrails or supports in
this bath. The WC is 400cm from the
floor and the sink is 800 from the
floor in both downstairs bathroom. All
the downstairs bathrooms have the
original green historic tiles and oak
panelling. All the floors are the
historic Victorian floors and may be
uneven in places. For access to the
first floor: Climb a carpeted staircase
with an oak handrail to assist on the
left side on way up. The first floor
houses the master bedroom/bridal
suite/family room. There is a light
switch in the corridor below and once
on the upper level to control turning
the lights off downstairs from the
upper bedroom if necessary.
TV
The living area has a Smart TV withadditional Apple TV box. All controls and user informationincluded Wifi code for internet accessand smart TV access and instructionscan be found in the guest welcomebook.
There is a selection of books, localhistory books and subscriptions tovarious journals all laid out aroundthe various tables in the property.Please feel free to enjoy them.
Umbrellas. As our English weather isnot always reliably sunny we haveprovided umbrellas for guests use!These can be found by the settle onthe left side of the room by theentrance.
Kitchen
The kitchen is also situated on theground floor with a central island toallow easy access around it. Thekitchen comprises of an island withoak worktops to level height of900mm. The island houses the sink
with drainer, all washing equipment isfound in the cupboard beneath thesink. The drawers alongside have thecutlery, the implements such as tinopeners etc and below dishes. Thecupboard to the left has the pots andpans. The kitchen also contains a runof bespoke oak cabinets along thewall which are opened by press touchand spring forward so have no visiblehandles. They house the Fridgefreezer, the dishwasher and allcrockery, glassware,teapots/cafetiere/ cooking dishes,children’s plastic plates etc. There isan oak cupboard along the wall withrecipe books, a first aid book, a trayand a large chopping board.
The gallery area is broad and flatwith a carpeted floor. It containssofas, a Le Corbusier chaise longue,Board games and a beautifulVictorian inlaid chess table andvarious books. Go through the doubleoak doors into master bedroom. Thisis also carpeted and has a hugeVictorian super king size brass bedwith two mattresses. The topmattress is sprung and has amemory foam topper.
There is a dressing table with mirror,
marble top coffee/reading table and
gothic bedside tables with bedside
lamps. The small study adjacent to
the room has a wardrobe and
dressing table/work space and mirror
with ironing board and iron.
The ensuite bathroom has a
pea-bath and shower and an Eileen
Grey table with products and soaps.
The pedestal basin has a mirror on
the wall above it and a shaving
mirror- and closed bin. The floor is
travertine tiles. The WC is behind a
low wall with a muslin gauze curtain
in front. The property is mains wired
smoke alarmed throughout. Central
heating and radiators in all bedrooms
and living /dining spaces.
Outside space/ woodland
The property includes use of the
courtyard and front balustrade
garden, with BBQ’s, a table and
chairs and deck chairs. The season
for outdoor use is April to September.

Sleeps 2-4 people

Bedroom One
The bedroom has a luxurious kingsizebed, huge gilt mirror and a dressingtable.
Bathroom TwoThere is a bathroom near the staircasewith a Moroccan feel. Gallery Level
There is another level with a doublebed hidden behind huge satin silkcurtains. There is a sofa a bookshelf toenjoy.
Outside space/ woodland
The property includes use of thecourtyard area. The area is availablefor watching riding lessons around thefront – the use of the balustrade areawith roses and geraniums- sittingoutside table and chairs, deck chairs,BBQ’s and general relaxation. Theseason for this is usually April toSeptember.
Diamond Lodge
Sleeps 2 people
Once you have the keys, the frontdoor to Diamond is opened with asingle key. The entrance is allground floor level and the dooropens to a large, double heightspace with plenty of room tomanoeuvre luggage, buggies allwheelchairs through. Making the most of a short break
or week long getaway, you could
book a riding lesson at Ingestre
Riding School, which is on site
and caters for all ages and levels.
Ingestre Park Golf Club and St.
Thomas Priory Golf Course are
nearby or perhaps you could try
clay pigeon shooting at the
nearby Oakedge Shooting Ground
in Shugborough, Cannock Chase
and Fly Fishing.
Cannock Chase itself is a vast and
beautiful forest covering a large part
of the Staffordshire area, where you
can visit Birches Valley an outdoor
recreation centre with cycling,
mountain biking, Go Ape climbing and
children´s adventure playground.
Staffordshire County Show Ground
hosts many events and antique
markets on most weekends.

19th century courtyard to the Riding

privately by International renowned
dressage eventers Tim Downes or
