This medium was the biggest challenge for

me. Not because I encountered it for the first

time, but because the information was far too

much and space too less. Frankly, I was really

lost when I started. I didn’t know what size I

should choose, what amount of seriousness

is required. I was quite hesistant too, then my

guide asked to experiment a bit and figure

out something, which could go with the

language as well.

Atlast, I started after analysing the last year’s

advertisement. We decided to edit few things,

which actually came up again later. I tried

to add life to the advertisement and few

typograhic elements, through which I can

make it look more inetersting.

I’ve always enjoyed making posters and this

one was actually special. We had print copies

and use it for promotion, so that more people

are aware of the admissions. The language

was sorted, all I needed was to explore with

layouts and attractiveness of the poster.

The poster had to give information but a

major part of it was a picture. We wanted a

picture which could show the philosophy

and put across a positive feeling to the

viewer. Initially I started with few random

pictures, but majorly tried to follow the same

language. After the refinement session, I

organised a small photo shoot and tried to

compose images according to the final layout.

Everything went great and we came up with

a two-fold poster which reveals information

in each step. Following are the key pictures

from the journey.

Envelope was a intutive decision, but

nothing was small or big in this collection

of collateral. Everything added value to the

collection and especially the envelope. It

completed the set beautifully. Thee poster

and prospectus would be kept in it and

posted to different places, and all these

items had the url of the website, making the

package complete and independent.

The envelope can be called the face of this

information systems, as that was the thing

people saw first.

NewspaperAd

One thing was for sure, there should have

been lesser text. And if I had a choice I

would’ve tried to make it a couloured ad,

as they atract more attention. I realised

that using an image for a black and white

advertisement. Especially when the ad was

surrounded by coloured information, it gets

neutralised and loses it’s impact.

I agree it could have been better, but it was

majorly dependent on the newspapers’

printing technique. Plus all the inches and

money resulted in a cramped up design.

Poster As mentioned earlier, I always enjoy making

posters. And this enhanced that experience

to another level. I never thought that I’ll do

my own photo shoot for a poster. Deciding

everything, getting a photographer,

composing pictures. Every feeling was

different and interesting. It would have

been better to see it printed in real, but I felt

content with it somehow, as it gave the basic

information and introduced the people to the

website as well.
