·∙ Learn about the registry structure and the implications of the registry for research and quality.
·∙ Acquire tools to improve diagnosis and strategies to help improve surgical results.
·∙ Gain knowledge regarding fixation methods in total hip arthroplasty. ·∙ Hear about results of total hip arthroplasty in younger active patients. ·∙ Learn a novel technique for total knee replacement. ·∙ Gain an understanding of the results of freehand navigation and thoughts
about its future role in total knee arthroplasty. ·∙ Recognize FAI ·∙ Understand indications for hip arthroscopy and ways to improve
radiographic assessment for hip pathology. ·∙ Understand the mechanics of PIPJ. ·∙ Review arthroplasty options including indicating and contradictions. ·∙ Become acquainted with optimal management for PIPJ. ·∙ Understand the 3 methods currently employed to decrease the stiffness of
fracture constructs. ·∙ Learn current techniques of flexible fracture fixation. ·∙ Review the clinical outcomes of fractures treated with flexible plate
constructs. ·∙ Identify the surgical issues for placing a salvage prosthesis, long term
failure mechanisms, and how to decide which patients should be considered for it.
·∙ Identify difficult fracture patterns. ·∙ Review internal fixation strategies. ·∙ Identify when revision arthroplasty is a better option than internal
fixation. ·∙ Understand the public health impact of the opioid crisis. ·∙ Be updated on recent research on acute and chronic opioid use and understand current practice guidelines. ·∙ Learn about "metrics" data and why orthopaedic surgeons should care. ·∙ Review orthopaedic emergencies cs. urgencies ie: Does timing matter for femoral neck fractures in young patients?
