ETM ESAT Headquarters Team Information tor Dioxin NPL Sites EPA CONTRACT NO. 68-D1-0135, ESAT Zone 2 TID No. HQ-9404-443 DOCUMENT NO.: ESAT-HO-5533 As vou requested, the ESAT Headquarters Team is providing cleanup levels and toxicity information for designated NPL sues at which dioxin was found. The data collected by the Headquarters Team are presented in Attachments 1 and 2. These data are also summarized below. A total of 43 sites were identified through searches of the RODS database and the ROD Annual Reports for 1982 through 1992 as potentially having dioxin cleanup levels. Only 23 of these sites actually had cleanup levels associated with them (Attachment 1). The attachment provides site identifying information, land uses. cleanup levels by medium, comments, and sources of information. The attachment is organized alphabetically bv site name for each cleanup level within each medium. The list of 21 sites (Attachment 2) from which the Headquarters Team gathered toxicity information was compiled by a Risk Assessment Data Base System (RADS) query and a list of 'Dioxin Sites Proposed and Final on the NPL" provided by EPA. The searches provided a list of 35 sites; however, the toxicity information was gathered directiv from onlv those risk assessments on file with the Headquarters Team. Risk assessments with dioxin detected at the site were available for 21 sites. Information in Attachment 2 includes site identifying information, contaminant of concern, exposure point concentrations, use of toxicirv eauivalencv factors and citations, toxicity values and citations, and dermal absorption values. The attachment is organized alphabetically by site name for each toxicitv value.
