On behalf of Water Polo Australia and KAP7 Australia, I am thrilled to welcomeyou to the 2021 WPA Country, Masters and Beach Championships on the Gold
Coast.
While it has been a stop start affair for water polo and the world over the past 12months, we are thrilled to be able to host the first major National water polo
event since the peak of COVID shutdowns.
We are so excited to see friends reunited both in and out of the pool,recapturing some of the magic of water polo and sharing a few tall tales. We
welcome teams from QLD, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and ACT, with players fromSouth Australia and Western Australia also in attendance.
We wish to thank Water Polo Australia for showing so much faith in our ability
to host this event and all their support over a nearly two-year period. We alsowish to thank Gold Coast City Council for their support during what has been a
very uncertain time.
Most of all, thank you to the competitors and officials for your continuedpatience and faith. We are so excited to get the games underway!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank City of Gold Coast for supporting the WPACountry, Masters & Beach Championships and offering a wealth of attractions,entertainment, facilities and services, that make it the perfect destination for this event.
The attractions of the Gold Coast bring smiles to people of all ages and stages. There areplenty of interactive entertainment activities - from dazzling big budget Gold Coast themeparks to small, hilariously kitsch museums - that you can experience when you're not at thepool!

ACCESS THE DRAW
We have partnered with The Island to provide thepreferred accommodation for the event
All athletes and teams are able to access theexclusive rate of $130 a night for the 'Classic Twin"room for the duration of the tournament.
The Island is also offering a 10% hotel discount forany supporters or family members traveling tothe event.

The Island will also feature as a primary socialvenue hub for the tournament, with eventsplanned for Thursday and Saturday night. All themore reason to stay at The Island!
THE ISLAND
TRANSPORTAll participants will need to get their own way to and from the pool each day. Werecommend utilising the G:link, also known as the Gold Coast Light Rail as a cheapand easy means of transport. The closest stop to Gold Coast Aquatic Centre isSouthport Station, which is a quick 700m walk from the pool.
Participants are able to purchase TransLink's electronic ticket "go card" that can beused on TransLink bus, train (including Airtrain), ferry and tram services in greaterBrisbane, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast, and Gold Coast regions. You can purchase a "gocard" from most newsagencies and Light Rail Stations. For a full list of retailers,please click here.

Staying at The Island? Cavill Avenue Station is just a 2-minute walk north of The Island and will deliver youto Southport Station in 13 minutes. Traveling from Cavill Avenue Station to SouthportStation is one zone fare ($3.37 each way).
Atlas Car & Truck Rental is next door to The Island for those looking to hire a car forthe week.
Parking on the Gold coast is pretty tricky so wethought we would give you a few helpful tips!
GOLD COAST AQUATIC CENTRE If driving to the pool, the GCAC Carpark (alsoknown as the Broadwater Carpark) has meteredon site parking. This carpark uses pay-by-platetechnology and is priced at $2.40 per hour.
PARKING
THE ISLANDFor those staying at the Island, paid parking isavailable at the hotel for $20 per night. Pleasenote that the height clearance for this car parkis 1.9m. However, the Bruce Bishop Carkpark is just a450m walk from the hotel and offers day rates($5), three-day passes ($29) and weekly passes($46) that are a cheaper alternative to parkingat the hotel . You can purchase your long staytickets immediately after parking your vehiclefrom the pay stations.
SOCIAL NIGHTSTHE ISLAND
We are partnering with The Island Rooftop & Glasshouse (3128 SurfersParadise Blvd, Surfers Paradise) to provide two social events for both
participants and spectators throughout the week. The Island Rooftopis the Gold Coast’s largest open air rooftop bar and boasts the best
cocktails, eats, entertainment and good-times.
THURSDAY: WELCOME NIGHT We will be hosting a free event for all CMB participants and spectators onThursday, May 27th. We encourage everyone to come and socialise at the
beautiful Island Rooftop from 6.30pm.
SATURDAY: KAP7 AFTERPARTY Celebrate the end of an awesome week with us on Saturday night at
the Official KAP7 Afterparty! Ticket holders will enjoy a 3-hourunlimited drinks package as well as canapes at the Island Glasshouse.

P.S. The theme for the Afterparty is 'Party Shirts', so don't forget to come dressed in your brightest shirt!
