Launch Applications Right from the Session WindowInfoConnect enhances session productivity, be-cause you no longer have to toggle back and forth between applications. Within the session window, you can create and send mail mes-sages, create tasks, notes, and appointments—or launch Word. This integration of legacy data and Office allows you to work with multiple applica-tions at once, with no disruptions to workflow.

Extend Printing Capabilities Enterprise-Wide Specially designed for ClearPath MCP print-ing, InfoConnect includes a Print Manager, providing host pass-through printing for up to four printer addresses. ClearPath MCP re-ports and files can be printed on a local or networked printer, or can be saved to disk and printed later, at your discretion.

Print Manager operates independently from the terminal application, so jobs can be sched-uled to print in the background, taking advan-tage of Windows software print spooling.

InfoConnect also supports other types of host printing. Whether you are accessing Unisys Dorado system, IBM System z or System i, sys-tems, you can simultaneously view several ses-sions, each in a separate window, and perform print jobs locally.

Regardless of the host from which data is printed, a print monitor is available to let you view and manage both local and networked print queues.

Secure Your Sensitive DataUnsecured macros are risky: They can allow us-ers to easily record and share sensitive data like sign-on credentials and payment information. But with InfoConnect, macro encryption prevents private data stored in InfoConnect macros—in-cluding macros you’ve already created—from being tampered with or com promised.

From within an emulation session, users can launch Microsoft Office applications without having to toggle back and forth between screens.

Add an Extra Layer of Security in Front of the HostIntegration with the Reflection Security Gateway (RSG) add-on allows you to add an extra layer of security to your legacy applica-tions without making any changes to your host systems. With RSG, you can centrally deploy and manage settings and macros, and protect your host against unauthorized users—from both inside and outside the network. RSG includes:

Reflection Management Server, which allows you to deploy and manage session files such as macros, keyboard maps, and Quick Pads from a central location.

Reflection Security Proxy, which stops intruders by verifying digital signatures us-ing public key cryptography before passing a connection through to the host.

Reflection Metering Server, which allows you to easily monitor application usage across your network.

Integrate Full-Featured Emulation within a Corporate Portal or Web PageUnlike other emulators, InfoConnect fully sup-ports web and portal integration. InfoConnect sessions can run within or outside a portal

framework. The ability to launch and run cli-ents from within a portal ensures that critical host applications are available to you when and where you need them. Inside the portal frame, InfoConnect sessions can be maximized or minimized, allowing you to work with several applications at once.

Organizations can begin moving current users toward a web-based or remodeled application without affecting productivity. InfoConnect pro-tects organizations from incurring new costs or requiring additional training.

Customize Installation Configurations with EaseInfoConnect Custom Installation Wizard allows administrators to modify the configurable in-stallation and default User Interface parame-ters. No programming expertise is required and configuration time is cut dramatically. By fully customizing installations, you ensure desktop uptime, increase productivity, and save costs.

Ease Administration with Terminal ID Resource ManagementInfoConnect is compatible with the power-ful ID management tools Reflection Security Gateway and InfoConnect Airlines Gateway.

With these tools, you can centrally manage host session Terminal IDs for ALC/TPF, Unisys, and IBM 3270 and 5250 host connections. Central management is ideal for remote or oc-casional users.

InfoConnect ID management allows you to allocate Terminal IDs on demand and only when required. ID management can pool Terminal IDs, conserving Terminal ID resources and re ducing operating expenses. If a fee is asso ciated with each terminal session, address pooling further extends costs savings by enabling a population of emulation clients to share a limited number of Terminal IDs.
