1. Click the dropdown then open its Properties Dialog.

10. Tick box if you want offline access. Note: Data security & device storage space may be an issue for you.

11. Name data connection. Note: Automatically retrieve data box - is ticked.
OK if data base is small for example 10 entries but downloading 350 entries might make the form unusable in some circumstances.

12. Click OK & return to form. Note: Option button get choices from external data source, Data source & Entries & Value & Display name are populated. Previously, slide 5 blank.
Test your form data connection link by clicking form preview button. If form drop list displays data you expect you can proceed to link multiple text box controls to user drop down list choice, if you should wish too.

Note: RestaurantName is the drop down list control used in InfoPath.
