•The Power Station does not regenerate the sine wave. This means the THD (total harmonic distortion) that the power station delivers is exactly what the power utility supplies. To ensure your audio ouput isn’t compromised.

•The Power Station’s default output voltage setting is 240V. On the rear of the unit this setting can be changed to a 220V Output (select the switch from 240V to 220V). Our experience has found that devices that are designed to operate on a 220V Power Supply will perform better when the voltage they were designed to operate on is supplied.

•The Power Station output voltage display will only change when there is a 3% or more variance to the incoming voltage. This is a factory setting and normal.

greenBoard-hoWdoesitWork?The Green Board is designed to save power to devices that are in standby but still consuming power. The unique remote switch (Bank 2) allows 4 outlets on the remote bank to be completely turned off.

The other 4 outlets (Bank 1) remain on for devices like pay TV decoders or any recording device that needs to be on permanently so as to perform time related tasks like recording.

This allows the user to get the best of both worlds while saving on energy consumption and therefore saving money too.

As an added bonus the remote button has a clever USB charging circuit built into the switch cover. The circuit will allow a single power hungry iPhone to charge or two other devices like an MP3 player, camera or phone charger.

THE REMOTE SWITCHThe remote switch has an extra long cable to connect into the side of the board ensuring there is ample lead for even the largest systems. The cable ensures there is power for the USB chargers as well as allowing the operator to easily switch the remote power saving bank “on” or “off” easily. No need to worry about replacing batteries either.

The two LED lights on the button switch indicate there is power to the USB charger and also alerts the user if the remote bank is turned on or off.

The LED lights have been placed at the rear of the switch so as to offer a softer illumination when in a dark environment. Even when power is switched off your valuable devices are still being protected.

The two combined USB chargers can handle up to 1Amp in connected devices to charge. This means that up to two devices can be charging at the same time, how convenient is that?

ABOUT SMART RACK GUARD RF11RP

Not enough power outlets? not any more! The Smart Rack Guard stand alone version, model RF11RP, can be placed in a cabinet or on the �oor with a total of 11 outlets available. Both Audio Visual and Computers can bene�t from the high end protection and �ltering offered.

Being able to communicate with devices is becoming more and more popular. Our R & D team decided it was time to allow each circuit to be able to be turned On/Off and/or rebooted remotely. Access can be achieved while connected through a network and communicating via the RJ45 data port on the device. Logging in safely and securely through a web browser or the custom iPhone and Android apps are the options to view a task to perform.

An audible alarm will also automatically activate if either protection circuit is damaged by a power surge. The LED lights will illuminate to identify which circuit is damaged. The alarm can be disabled remotely or by depressing the push button on the device. As soon as the alarm is activated an email can be sent to alert the customer or service technician of the fault so that a replacement can be organised.

WHY USE SMART RACK GUARD RF11R?

When racks are involved space is generally a premium. The Smart Rack Guard RF11R is only 1RU is neat, compact without the bulk. Both Audio Visual and Computer racks can bene�t from the high end protection and �ltering offered.

Being able to communicate with devices is becoming more and more popular. Our R & D team decided it was time to allow each circuit to be able to be turned On/Off and/or rebooted remotely. Access can be achieved while connected through a network and communicating via the RJ45 data port on the device. Logging in safely and securely through a web browser or the custom iPhone and Android apps are the options to view a task to perform.

An audible alarm will also automatically activate if either protection circuit is damaged by a power surge. The LED lights will illuminate to identify which circuit is damaged. The alarm can be disabled remotely or by depressing the push button on the device. As soon as the alarm is activated an email can be sent to alert the customer or service technician of the fault so that a replacement can be organised.

I recently purchased a Thor Premium Power Filter, to protect my valuable Home Theatre equipment which includes a Rear Projection TV, audiophile Power Amplifier, A/V Amplifier, DVD/SACD player, Phono Turntable, VCR, Subwoofer and associated loudspeakers.

Apart from the peace of mind I had from the 8 way board the 6 year free replacement warranty was not something I thought I would really need to use. However, after a storm went through my area I could detect a burnt odour and found the Thor Power Filter was the culprit. The power board had obviously been severely damaged by a power surge and had thankfully done its job sacrificing itself to save my equipment. To the best of my knowledge my equipment is functioning as if nothing has happened.

I rang the store where I purchased the unit from and they told me to bring it in and it would be replaced for a new board. There were no questions on proof of purchase or receipts it was as easy as bringing in the damaged unit and a replacement was supplied on the spot.

I then rang the manufacturer to let him know about my situation and informed them how happy I was. I have already and would now recommend their product even more highly.

Q6 What is Dynamic Tracking and why is it better?

A A unique THOR SMART SERIES bonus on our A Series models- this Protection strategy encompasses self-diagnostic and corrective circuitry.

Traditional power protection always relies on simple surge absorbing circuitry at pre-defined points on the wave form, however THOR Dynamic Tracking monitors the Sine Wave, instantaneously sensing and clamping transient spikes and surges to a safe level, regardless of where they appear on the wave form. Q8 When I connected the AV/TV aerial connection to my system I noticed a drop in picture quality what could cause that?

A In rare instances and generally in an area where the aerial is using a booster to enhance or amplify picture quality as the TV signal to that area is extremely weak, you may find that you can not use the incoming aerial protection on the THOR SMART SERIES. This is due to the passive protection circuit highlighting the weak signal, it is not a fault of the THOR SMART SERIES, simply leave the aerial connected as it was previously and connect the AC power plugs as shown on the simple installation instructions provided with the unit, bypassing the AV/TV connection.

Q9 I have an earth leakage device fitted to my house why do I need a Power Filter?

A Earth leakage devices, or safety switches as they are commonly known are compulsory in new buildings in all state of Australia and we all applaud that, however you must understand they are designed to PROTECT PEOPLE against Electrocution, these devices DO NOT protect equipment. In fact they will trip when a short circuit occurs in an appliance, this is after the appliance has already been damaged. Our Thor products are constantly monitoring and correcting the incoming voltage/current preventing damaging disruptive polluted power from ever reaching valuable equipment.

Q10 I have an earth diverter fitted in my fuse box why do I need a power filter?

A A surge diverter does exactly that, it diverts most surges and transients direct to earth as they enter the building. It will not prevent noise pollution and it will not stop surges and transients which occur after it. There are two areas that most transients originate from 1) the power grid network of supply, prior to reaching your building and your earth diverter is good for these and 2) Electrical shorts, faults, and noise pollution from within the building. This is very common and is the major source of dirty or polluted power, something today’s Digital Equipment hates. Q11 Will this Thor product protect my equipment from lightning?

A The closer your home or office is to a direct lightning strike the greater the risk of equipment damage. As lightning travels at around 180,000 miles per second nothing designed by man will stop a direct hit, however the odds of a direct hit are quite rare and Thor Smart Series can certainly minimize the risk of damage. The degree of risk reduction is usually measured by the specifications “Maximum AMP’s absorbed” and “Maximum SpikeJoules”.Checkoutourspecifications you will find them the best in the industry.

Q12 How many times will a Thor Smart Series filter work, do I have to replace it if it gets a surge or spike?

A A surprising number of the damaging and degrading spikes occur without our knowledge many of them are even caused by other appliances and events in our home or office.(switches turning off and on, motors starting and stopping, etc) These events are taken care of by your Smart Series pro-active filter, the only loss being some of the joules of energy absorption available in your Smart Series. When the available amount of joules has been used up or the Smart Series is damaged while protecting it will simply stop letting power through to your equipment. Should this happen contact us and WE WILL REPLACE YOUR SMART SERIES FREE OF CHARGE FOR 6 YEARS.

Q13 How important is it for me to use the telephone line protection for my modem or telephone equipment?

A Telephone line protection is very important and this is highlighted at the front of most telephone books where it states quite clearly to avoid using your telephone equipment during storm activity and in some instances it is prudent to disconnect such as cordless telephone hand sets and computer modems during close lightning activity. This is not always possible as you may not be in attendance or the storm dos not seem close by and in view (STORM ACTIVITY CAN BE MILES AWAY AND STILL DAMAGE VALUABLE EQUIPMENT).

Note: Thor products discharge telephone spikes directly to earth not through the common earth on the power board as is the practice with most other manufacturers. Even our entry level products use separate earth lines. The A series has 5 separate earth lines, one for each circuit and then one for the aerial and one for the data connections too.

Q14 Why do Thor Boards register an apparent “fail” when a MEGA test is done?

A The “fail” is a false result because of the design and function of the components and circuitry that offer filtering and protection. As stated in the AS/NZS 3760 standards - a MEGA test should not be performed on any device that contains;

Thor products contain all of the above. The AS/NZS 3760 standard states instances where the above is contained then a leakage current test shall be performed.

Q15 Can a power filter improve my sound system performance?

A There is no question that good quality power filtration will allow your equipment to perform closer to its maximum potential. Technology has advanced to the point where turning on fluorescent lights may affect your sound or fridges and air-conditioners and pool motors may come through as a “hissing” noise. These are examples where you will appreciate the filtering and possibly enjoy a greater DB range from your music too.
