Ruth Clark

For over 25 years Ruth Clark has helped workforce learning practitioners apply evidence-based practice guidelines based on valid research.  Ruth has developed a number of seminars and written six books that translate important research programs into practical

 

training guidance including e-Learning and the Science of Instruction, Efficiency in Learning, and The New Virtual Classroom.   A science undergraduate, Ruth completed her doctorate in Instructional Psychology/ Educational Technology in 1988 at the University of Southern California.

Ruth is a Past President of the International Society of Performance Improvement and a member of the American Educational Research Association. Ruth was honored with the 2006 Thomas F. Gilbert Distinguished Professional Achievement Award by the International Society

for Performance Improvement and was a Training Legend Speaker at the ASTD 2007 International Conference. Ruth is currently a dual resident of Southwest Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona and divides her professional time among speaking, teaching, and writing.

Robert F. Mager, Ph.D

Dr. Robert Mager is the most recognized name in training and education. His writings have been translated into 16 languages and over three million copies of his books have been sold. He has received numerous honors and awards, including

Distinguished Contribution to the Field of Human Resource Development, presented by the American Society for Training and Development, Distinguished Professional Achievement, presented by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the ISPI Armed Forces Chapter's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Publishing credits The author of numerous books, technical papers, and articles, Dr. Mager is perhaps best known for his book Preparing Instructional Objectives-listed as one of the Museum of Education's "Books of the Century." Other distinguished Mager books include Analyzing Performance Problems

(with Peter Pipe), and What Every Manager Should Know About Training. He also recently published a new mystery novel entitled Killer in Our Midst. His most recent book is Life in the Pinball Machine, a reflection of Mager's life in learning and human performance.

Educational background Dr. Mager received his A.B. and M.A. degrees from Ohio University and his Ph.D. in Psychology from the State University of Iowa.

Harold Stolovitch, CPT, is emeritus professor of Workplace Learning & Performance, Université de Montréal and a principal of HSA LEARNING & PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS LLC, an international consulting firm. His research has primarily focused on how people learn and perform in workplace settings.

Publications include 13 books and more than 200 articles and book chapters. He is the regular, featured human performance columnist for Talent Management magazine. Some awards for contributions to the fields of workplace learning and performance include: the 2001 ISPI

Distinguished Professional Achievement award and ISPI's highest award, Member for Life; the 2003 Csanadian Society for Training and Development President's Award for Lifetime Achievement, their highest honor; the 2004 ASTD Outstanding Research Award for work on Incentives, Motivation and Workplace Performance.
