Fields of application and design characteristics
Jaw crushers are mainly designed for medium-hard tovery hard materials and areused in quarries for primarycrushing of blasted rockpile, which – depending on theblasting method – can achieve edge lengths of more than2,000 mm. For these dutiestwo different jaw crushertypes are available fromThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions:single-toggle- and double-toggle jaw crushers. The distinguishing feature of these two crushers isthe kinematics of the swing jawwhich the specific advantage ofthe respective crusher type also results from.
Fields of application
• Quarries
• Ore mining
• Ore crushing in metallurgical plants
• Recycling industry
• Other primary industry areas
Design characteristics
• Crusher frame and swing jaw made of high-grade steel or special cast steel subjected to a stress-relieving heat treatment in order to avoid residual stresses from the welding or casting process
• Front- and back wall reinforced
• Additional outer reinforcing ribs coincide with the lines of force
• The exact position of the axles towards each other ensures that neither the driving parts nor the toggle plates are jammed or exposed to unilateral stress
• Swing jaws of high-quality material
• Resilient rubber mounting connects the toggle plates with the back wall
• Toggle plates of special steel with no need for lubrication
• Largely dimensioned antifriction bearings
• Eccentric shafts forged from high-strength steel
• One-part pitman
• Two heavy flywheels to balance crusher peak loads
• Crushing jaws made of high-grade manganese steel, cheek plates made of high-strength special steel
• The crushing jaws can freely expand avoiding the transmission of high stresses to other components
• Developed crushing plate profiling and geometry of the crushing chamber optimised for all kinds of feed material
• Optimum angle of nip for hard and tough materials
• Optimised kinematics of the swing jaw with a high stroke in the feed and discharge area ensuring very high throughput rates
• Easy adjustment of the crushing gap through hand-operated hydraulic equipment and shim plates or automatic adjustment of the crushing gap
• The jaw crushers can be used as stationary crushers or be integrated into mobile crushing plants (crawler-mobile or on wheels)
• Central lubrication system ensures a reliable grease supply

Single-toggle jaw crushersspecially designed for highest throughput rates for medium-hard and hard materials
A typical feature of single-toggle jaw crushers is the suspension of the swing jawon the eccentric drive shaft. The swing jaw is supported atits lower part by a toggle platepositioned against the crusher frame.
The kinematics of such a toggle system results in a higher throughput capacitythan that achieved withdouble-toggle jaw crusherswith the same feed opening.Different feed material characteristics have led toa diversification of thesingle-toggle jaw crushersby rock hardness. Available in four sizes in lightor heavy construction each,

Depending on the requirement, our product line ranges fromlarge-scale single-toggle jawcrushers to be integrated in
either stationary or semi-stationary crushing plants to a model specially conceived forbeing integrated intoroad-transportable crushingplants. Single-toggle jaw crushers are outstanding for their high
throughput capacity, simple construction, low weight and low space requirement.

Throughput rates and grain size distributions
The throughput rates of the standard version of thesingle-toggle jaw crushers referto medium-hard feed material, which is easy to crush. The throughput rates of the hard rock version of the single-toggle jaw crushers refer to hard feed material being difficult to crush.
They are based on theoreticalcalculations and verified bypractical measurements.Deviations from the average throughput rate are dependenton: material, grain size, composition of the feed material, hardness, tenacity, degree of purity and feeding.Deviations normally to beexpected for common materials and gap settings can be takenfrom the diagram.
The grain size distributions of the product are approximate values only. Deviations in the proportional composition are dependent on the factors also influencing the throughput rate. The stated grain sizedistributions refer to dry and brittle granite. For a surface-moist and toughbasalt the fines content will be slightly lower and the curve will move to the right.

Double-toggle jaw crushers7
Double-toggle jaw crushers: specially designed for hardest and toughest abrasive materials
Double-toggle jaw crushers are equipped with a system of toggle levers, which are moved up and down by a pitman via an eccentric shaft. The alternating stretching and bending movements cause an oscillating motion of the swingjaw. Since the material to becrushed falls down by gravitation, the pressure whichis necessary to crush the material is generated, when the swing jaw moves forward in the narrowing crushing chamber. This process is intensified bythe toothing on the crushingjaw liners. When the swing jaw retreats, the crushed material exits thecrushing chamber through thepre-selected gap at the bottom, while new material slips downfrom the top.The toggle leversystem ensures a very goodpower transmission from thedrive unit to the crushing tools
making double-toggle jawcrushers the ideal machines forthe crushing of hardest and toughest materials. Even withvery abrasive materials, onlyminimum wear is observed.
