The new Océ JetStream® Wide series is based on a

30" (762mm)-wide web using the industry-proven Océ

DigiDot® inkjet technology to ensure continuous high image

quality at top speed with either dye- or pigment-based inks.

The Océ JetStream Wide series is available as a “black-

only” version optimized for b/w book production and as

a “full-color” version available in a 4/4, 4/5 and 5/5 color

configuration.

The ultimate combination in productivity and

print quality

The Océ JetStream Wide series inkjet web press, with a

continuous production speed of up to 254 m/min is the

ulti mate combination of productivity and print image quality.

Using the industry-proven Océ DigiDot inkjet drop-on-

demand and multilevel technology, an excellent image

quality of 600×480 dpi is produced at 254 m/min, and the

premium 1200 dpi perceived image quality (600×600 dpi

with multilevel technology) is produced at 200 m/min. The

multilevel offers a dynamic modulation of droplet sizes for

each image element which produces high-quality images

with smoother gradations of shades, crisper details and a

heightened dynamic range, leading to a perceived image

quality of 1200 dpi. Additionally, a broad range of media –

from lightweight news paper to glossy heavy-weight media

ranging from 64 –157 gsm – are supported.

The 5th color as a separate print head unit –

greater flexibility in managing costs

The Océ JetStream Wide full-color web presses are avail-

able in 5/5 configurations. The 5th color unit can be used

either with a spot color or a security ink, for example, MICR

or Fugitive Ink. A unique feature is that the 5th color ink

head unit is managed in a separate head box (separate from

the CMYK ink head units), i.e. the 5th color ink head unit

requires this. The beefit of this asynchronous solution is

the flexible management of costs and improved efficiency.

When printing only in CMYK 4/4 mode, the 5th color unit is

in an inactive and “parked” state, i.e. there is no unneces-

sary wear and tear on this 5th unit and no unnecessary use

of electricity or other consumables.

Professional inline finishing solutions

Océ and manroland web systems have a close strategic

alliance for professional high-end inline finishing solutions

for book and newspaper production. The multi-purpose

manroland web systems variable pin folder FoldLine VPF 211

creates professional tabloid and broadsheet newspapers,

and also produces book signatures and stitched booklets.

The manroland web systems finishing solutions are tightly

integrated with the Océ JetStream series of printers to

ensure an automated and efficient production workflow.

The Océ PRISMAproduction® Software Suite output

manage ment system solution for digital webfed production

printers, coupled with the Océ SRA® MP controller with its

unrivalled performance, drives variable data at an uninter-

rupted production speed of 254 m/min on a 30"-wide web.

An especially exciting feature for the book and newspaper

printing industry is the support of the native PDF (Adobe

PDF Print Engine 2.5) format is ripped directly on the printer

controller, eliminating the costly and time-consuming inter-

mediate process.
