On the Roll is a rollator seat with a built in tablet that is aimed towards keeping elderly people more mobile, safe, and independent.

The tablet functions as an intelligent assistant, with software designed specially to cater to the elderly user. By incorporating Google’s Autovoice Tasker and “always listening” feature, the user can navigate and perform commands using voice alone.

While performing common tablet features, this design has three main highlights: the tasker controlled home automation system, WalkTracker app, and verbal safety cues.

The home automation system allows the user to link up their tablet with their heating, television, lights, door lock, and more, to be controlled on their voice command via the tablet.

The WalkTracker application is aimed towards adding incentive to the activity of walking, through setting goals, tracking progress, and meeting walking buddies.

Finally, the always listening feature is programmed to detect verbal emergency cues that will alert emergency services in case of an accident.

This project aimed towards re-designing the current ferro cement rainwater storage tanks in Sri Lanka to be re-useable and re-sizeable, and all around more sustainable.

The re-design consisted of a tank made of modular interlocking panels, with an inner ‘water bag’, and lid filter. With the interlocking panel design and removable water bag, the tank can be disassembled, re-located, replaced, and re-assembled, giving the user a stronger sense of ownership over their tank, as it can be adjusted according to their needs.

The EDGE concept is a compact cooking set that consists out of 4 parts: The kettle, the cooking pot with lid, and the detachable Pow-er Handle. Casual cooking and/or water boiling is used to power the charging and connectivity functions of the Power Handle. The cooking set provides very efficient and fast cooking for most com-mon meals. This is achieved through a combination of many clever techniques that allow the maximum usage of the heat created by burning different fuels.

The unique shape of the EDGE cooking set ensures all the compo-nents fit easily into the pot. All the components are then securely closed with the lid and its handle.

On the next page you can see an overview of the whole concept together, and for more information consult our website:

The front of the power handle has two rails. These rails not only provide a way to attach the handle to the ket-tle but they also act as electrical connectors to allow the current to flow from the TEG’s in the kettle to the battery in the Power Handle. The power handle can be used to charge devices and stay connected off the grid. LED in-dicators on the handle show things like state of charge and signal strength of the handle’s GPS connection.

The Nomad concept was developed as a part of the European Project Semester done whilst studying abroad in Valencia, Spain. The project was a collaboration between myself and five other stu-dents, three of which engineers, and three industrial designers like myself.

Nomad in its most basic description is a box that you put in the trunk of your 3-door hatchback. The interior of the box is used as storage space for things like food, water, clothing, cookware, and your camping basics. The interior features a sliding panel which provides easy access to important necessities like cookware, while allowing the user to slide the panel back and forth at ease to access storage space underneath.

When the lid of the box is closed, you can see three panels, which are attached and rest on top. When the seats of the car are folded down as far as possible, the panels slide off the top of the box, and are folded out into a bed. The bed is supported in a couple of ways when it is folded out, firstly, by strong belts arranged in an X shape over the 3 panels, and also by being hung in the seatbelts & locking them. The bed can be easily folded open and closed by pull strings arranged in the front and back of the panels. Finally, the whole system can be locked into a closed position to keep everything secure while driving, and accessing the interior of the box.

Knorr recognizes the need for quickly prepared nutritious meals, and meets this need by providing consumers with flavorful seasonings and dried vegetables, which create sauces and soups by the addition of water.

This project aimed to increase the efficiency with which Knorr customers use water in order to prepare the Knorr World Recipes meal kits. To use the packaging, the red tab on top is ripped off, and the box folded into a spout. The user fills the package to the indicated fill line, and the water can then be poured out of the spout into the pan.

The re-design came down to a simple concept which turns the packaging into a tool that measures the water necessary for that specific meal. The aim with this was to firstly make the cooking process more straightforward by cutting out extra tools and steps, while also improving the quality of the meal, since the amount of water effects the flavor of the meal. Next to this, the packaging was given a facelift, while adhering to Knorr’s brand identity.
