TWENTYNINE INDUSTRIAL CAMERA SERIES

29x29 mm Miniature Housing The brand new twentynine camera series introduces the 29x29 mm form factor to the SMARTEK camera family, fulfilling the new unofficial standard for industrial compact cameras. This allows for seamless integration into most existing systems and all those where size really matters.

New CMOS Sensors Optimized for the latest CMOS image sensors, this camera family brings the latest SONY Pregius™ image sensors to you. With high framerates and resolutions of up to 5 MP, the twentynine drives them to the maximum of both camera interface options.

USB3 Vision and GigE Vision Provided with the two most common industrial interfaces USB3 Vision and GigE Vision, the new platform covers nearly every application from long distance to high speed at high resolution, providing fully standard compliant hardware and software.

Similar to the HPSC series which is focused on the low voltage range, our for more than 10 years established IPSC series aims at those applications where voltages of up to 200 V with high currents are required, to fire huge series LED arrays over long distances:

• 1, 2 and 4 channel models with adjustable output voltage from 5 V up to 200 V• High power pulses of up to 20 A @ 200 V per channel• Ultra precise pulse adjustment per 1 µs and 1 mA• Variable pulse durations from 1 µs to 1 s• Internal trigger frequency generation • Convenient control over Ethernet, via browser interface, client application, RAW commands or API

Machine vision applications from factory automation to traffic control benefit significantly from the performance of their illumination system. With the HPSC series, SMARTEK Vision offers full control over light inten-sity, timing, synchronization and overdriving of one or more illumination sources, providing enough power to fulfill the demand for increasingly strong high-power LED arrays at an unbeaten stability.

Unbeaten PowerThe digitally regulated internal switching power supply provides 120 W at the output to produce pulses with up to 40 A at 48 V in strobe mode, or to supply a precisely regulated constant current of up to 5 A at 24 V, ensuring enough power in every situation!

4-Way ConfigurationQuick and easy device configuration via the ready-to-use software application, enhanced by RAW command support and a fully descri-bed SDK (C, C++, C#.Net, VB.Net, Delphi) for Windows and Linux. With the web interface, a platform- independent configuration method adds support for Android, iOS and OS X via the web browser.

Full Asynchronous OperationThe fully revised architecture of our HPSC series allows full timing- and parameter-independent operation of up to four channels, while suppor-ting frequencies of up to 50 kHz.

Precision SynchronizationOpto-isolated trigger inputs and separate output lines for external synchronization. An input to output delay of only 2 µs allows pulses with a resolution of up to 1 µs / 1 mA and durations from 1 µs to 1 s.

TAILORED CUSTOMIZATION

For a project spanning just 8 weeks Smartek Vision’s standard camera design was electri-cally and mechanically modified to solve a customer specific application.

Requirements:

A spring coiling machine which produces up to 900 springs per minute needs each spring to be checked for repeatable quality. The inspec-tion requires a camera to be installed within the machine meaning there is limited space and close proximity to high EMC fields.As the axis for image acquisition in this type of machine must be very short and is close to moving machine parts, the requirement was to build the optical axis of the camera as short as possible and perpendicular to the data and control interface. In addition, a particularly high EMC stability was required, because environ-mental influences may occur, which may cause unwanted trigger signals.

Optimisation:

• 90° orientation of the sensor from a SMARTEK standard Giganetix camera• Minimising the depth of the camera in relation to the optical axis to increase field of view• Modification of trigger circuitry to improve resilience to EMC interference• Ethernet interface for fast and secure data transfer, despite strong EMC influences• Giganetix cable security for easier cable routing and resilience to vibration• C-mount (compatible with existing lenses)• Light weight and suitable fixing measurements to fit existing camera mounts• Single board design to reduce the sensitivity to vibration

CASE PROJECT: A90

The HPSC and IPSC strobe controller family is designed for all machine vision applications where a huge amount of light is needed. The devices range from one to four channels sup-porting frequencies of up to 50 kHz asynchro-nously, with best-in-class switching capacities of up to 40  A and 200  V. Precise timing and outstanding edge steepness are self-expla-natory for the best possible exploitation and life-extending operation of LED light heads.
