Tanah Lot

Situated on a large rock, Tanah Lot is one of the most famous Hindu temples in Bali. It has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of 7 sea temples, each within eyesight of the next, to form a chain along the south-western coast of Bali. Tanah Lot is one of the most popular places to visit in Bali and the whole area can be very busy, especially in the late afternoons and before sunset. The area between the car park and the beach adjacent to the temple is a maze of souvenir shops selling just about every Balinese trinket imaginable. Once visitors have fought their way through the souvenir vendors to the beach, they will see the magnificent.temple perched on a rock just a few meters offshore

Bali is one of the world’s most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards. The varied landscape, rugged coastlines, tropical beaches, lush rice terraces and volcanic hillsides all provide a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, deeply spiritual and unique Hindu culture. The combination of friendly people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali the most popular tourist.destination in Indonesia

Welcome Messages

Dear all,

It is an honor to welcoming you to the 11th Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Surabaya,

Indonesia. I am overjoyed to have you all…

The ACNS was started in 1993 along the lines of Dr. Kanno’s dream. We had invited a hundred

young Neurosurgeons sponsoring their stay and registration… the dream continues on….. And we

promise you that our dream of equality in opportunities for Neurosurgeons from the developing

countries is a dream we will keep alive..

Every council needs to have a journal and our official journal, the Asian Journal of Neurosurgery

started in 1997. It has come a long way and quality articles from Asia and abroad adorn it these

days.. We have a young and dynamic team who are equally adept at learning from the masters and

innovating as well…

The ACNS has also been involved with the education of women in Neurosurgery and, as I see the

members of AWNA gathered here, I am proud that in a continent like Asia where so many constraints

are present for average women, we have a sizeable group in a very difficult branch of surgery…. If

you remember, the first woman who scaled Everest was from Asia….

For the nextfive days, we have a scenario where there are the best teachers available in Asia and

we also have eager young Neurosurgeons.. We hope that both interact and I am sure, before long,

the masters would sit back in admiration of their wards… and today’s young Neurosurgeons will in

turn lead the young neurosurgeons of tomorrow towards betterment of Neurosurgery….This would

be my concept of Utopia.. Let’s all, for the next five days forget those lines on the maps dividing us

into different countrymen and work as a common force… Let’s do our bit of making this world a better

place…

Thank you.

Workshop will provide participants the opportunity to learn and practice endovascular technique using simulation models. The workshop will use a combination of interactive small group case discussion and simulation models to further understand and appreciate techniques, procedures, and relevant technology uti-lized in the management of neurovascular diseases. The objective with this course is to make the participant aware of the science behind, technical and practical aspects of basic endovascular technique. Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to:Discuss the newest innovations in endovascular and minimally invasive approaches to treat neurovascular disease.Explain the implications for use of new technology and patient selection criteria.Apply clinical techniques using vascular imaging, catheters and guidewires, thrombectomy in acute stroke, carotid stent, aneurysm coiling, glue embolization, etc.

29Final Announcement

Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some 500,000 people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, due to its proximity to the famous temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The city itself is a center of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. Yogyakarta lies in one of the most seismically active parts of Java and has thus repeatedly been struck by earthquakes and volcano eruptions. In 2006 an earthquake flattened over 300,000 houses while in 2010 the nearby volcano of Mount.Merapi erupted, spewing lava over nearby villages

BorobudurTemple

The awesome Borobudur Temple which is considered the world’s largest Buddhist monument, is a very ancient religious site that has been widely considered as one of.the Seven Wonders of this world

The Borobudur Temple was constructed during the 9th century by the monarchs of the Syailendra (Wikipedia Article) dynasty who ruled central Java in Indonesia during.that time

Although the Borobudur Temple has several unique Indonesian aspects in its architectural style, however this temple also reflects Indian architectural resemblances.pertaining to the Gupta architectural style

As one of the most visited tourist attraction and also a famous cultural heritage of Indonesia, Borobudur is truly a marvel on stones that sits on a hilltop overlooking the.lush, green fields and distant hills on Java Island

Mount Bromo is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java. At 2,329 meters (7,641 feet) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but it is the most well known. The area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Indonesia and Java. The top of the volcano has been blown off and the crater inside constantly belches white smoke. It is surrounded by the Sea of Sand of fine volcanic sand. The overalleffect is unsettlingly unearthly
