Indonesia is an archipelago comprising thousand of islands.It is above Australia. The countries shares Papua New Guinea ,east Timor and Malaysia. Other neighbouring countries are include Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, Palau and the Indian territory of the Andaman and nicobar islands.

The Indonesian flag is red and white.

The Indonesian climate is almost entirely tropical. The uniformly warm waters that make up 81% of Indonesia's area ensure that temperatures on land remain fairly constant with coastal plains average 28 degrees Celsius ,the inland and mountain area averaging 26 degrees Celsius and the highest mountain regions 23 degrees Celsius.

The culture of Indonesia has been shaped by long interaction between original indigenous customs and multiple foreign influences.

Indonesia eats rice as a main dish .usually Indonesian foods are spicy. The most popular dishes include Nasi goreng (fried rice) , Satay , Nasia Padang( a dish of minangkabu0 and soy based dishes, such as tofu and Tempe . The cuisine of Indonesia has been influenced by chines culture ,as well as by western culture.

Food

The Indonesian language is written as the same letters of Australia. There are over 200 languages and dialects spoken . Bahasa Indonesia is the national language

Petroleum, tin, natural gas, nickel, timber, bauxite, copper, Fertile soils, coal, gold, silver .Indonesia has the largest economy in southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world.

Indonesia is officially called the republic of Indonesia. The country of Indonesia is ethnically diverse, with

around 300 distinctive native ethnic groups and over 740 different languages and dialects spoken in the country.

Indonesia is part of the Malay archipelago covering 5,150 km’s (3,200 miles) east to west between the Indian and pacific oceans. Scattered over either side of the equator is more than 17,50 islands ;of which about 6.00 are inhabited. The largest of these islands are Sumatra, Java ,Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and the Indonesian part of new guinea called Papua.

Interesting Facts

Indonesia is part of the pacific rim “Ring Of Fire”. The country has 400 volcanoes, about 150 of these are active which is around 75% of all currently active volcanoes on Earth.
