PREFACE

Various aeronautical mode information form to support flight safety already published quite a lot by various countries are members of ICAO. In Indonesia the duties and authority to do so has been delegated by ICAO to the Ministry of Transportation c.q. Directorate General of Civil Aviation with the issuance of the AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication)

However, to further improve the safety of civil aviation in the region of Indonesia, the government institutions have offered opportunities to national companies to participate in the aeronautical information publishing process, so far as it meets the criteria and provisions issued by ICAO and by the DGCA of Indonesia. In this regard, PT. INDOAVIS NUSANTARA as a national company that has twelve (12) years experienced engaged in the Geo-informatics and Aeronautical Navigation Support, has proven the ability of INDOAVIS which belongs to the Indonesia nation in serving the needs of its own people have been tested. INDOAVIS has addressed the defense information embargo by NATO in 1998, related to the needs of ONC defense chart. Entrusted by the Lido Lufthansa to make information on all airports, world coverage. Provide free information services with the data that are always updated by creating a website http://www.indoavis.co.id. This website has been visited in average of ± 4000 per month. Oil companies entrusted INDOAVIS for designing landing and night flying procedures in the area of oil-rig.

Presently, INDOAVIS has proudly published aeronautical information new series, called the Airport/Facility Directory. The Airport/Facility Directory, is a manual for the flight organizer and/or pilot that provides complete information on airports, both large and small airports, related procedures or other aviation facilities information.

In certain country (USA) for example, A/FD also comes with the Aeronautical Chart Bulletin. The usefulness of this bulletin is to complete any major changes to aeronautical information that have occurred since the last date of issuance.

Observing the condition of civil aviation in Indonesia today, the publication of A/FD by INDOAVIS emphasis more on the usefulness to the flight organizers rather than to the pilot. Data and information contained in the directory book will be sorted and selected according to the current condition, which is very useful and fairly solid information. If there are abrupt changes in the airport which was not included in the A/FD at the time of issuance is such a case change can be seen on the A/FD electronic version is displayed in the address http://www.indoavis.co.id or NOTAM.
