Introduction

This user guide provides a step by step guide on the registration process for an individual to use the Services Australia secure online portal, Business Hub.

WHAT IS BUSINESS HUB?

Registered personnel can log-in to Business Hub on behalf of a business or organisation and connect to a range of business services offered by the agency.

WHAT IS PRODA?

Provider Digital Access (PRODA) is an online authentication system that is used to log in to Business Hub. It ensures sensitive customer information held by the agency is securely protected. Anyone needing access to Business Hub must verify their identity through PRODA by creating a PRODA account.

Creating a PRODA account

Click here or go to servicesaustralia.gov.au/PRODA to start the PRODA registration process.

Privacy

Selct the ‘+ Your right to privacy’ For more information about the protection of your personal information.

Select Register now.

Your details

Enter your details in the fields provided.

‘Additional Name’ refers to your middle name. If your middle name is displayed on your identity documents you should

include it here.

Create your login details

Here you can nominate what you’d like to set as your User name and Password.

Your password must:

Be at least 10 characters

Contain at least one uppercase letter

Contain at least one lowercase letter

Contain at least one number or special character

Your security questions

You must set up three security questions.

Your email address

This is the email address to which your verification code will be sent to. You will need to be able to access it to progress

with verifying your identity.

Verification code

Once you have accessed your verification code email from your email inbox, enter it into the verification code field

and click ‘Next’.

Next you will receive a second automated email stating that you have successsfully created your account. The email

will contain the following important information which you will need to store securely for the next step.

‘Dear Person

You have successfully created a Provider Digital Access (PRODA) account.

Your Username is USERNAME

Your Registration Authority (RA) Number is 1234567890

Please retain this number as you may need it for future reference.’

Your RA number is important for Business Hub purposes, later.

VERIFY DOCUMENTS

You may choose to log back in at a later time and complete this action or, if you have your documents available, you

may complete the second part immediately.

Either log out now and return to log in later or click ‘Continue’.

You will require 3 documents to verify your identity online. You will need to enter the document details, such as the

state in which the document was issued, or the number recorded on the document, to allow your information to be

automatically checked online with the issuer or official record holder.

If your name differs between the documents you provide, you will also be required to provide a Change of Name

document. It may include one of the following:

Marriage Certificate

Change of Name Certificate

Your first document

Choose your first document. To verify your identity online you will require two of the following:

Medicare card

Drivers Licence

Immicard

Passport

Enter the details of your first document. Make sure you enter the details exactly as they are displayed on

your document. For example, if your document has your middle name displayed or your middle name initial enter

the details in exactly the same format.

Click ‘Next’

Your second document

Choose your second document. It may include one of the following (note: the document you selected as your first

document will no longer appear in the list)

Medicare card

Drivers Licence

Immicard

Passport

Click ‘Next’

Your third document

Choose your third document. It may include one of the following (note: the document you selected as your first and

second document will no longer appear in the list)

Passport

Birth Certificate

Immicard

Citizenship Certificate

Visa

Certificate of Registration by Descent

Verification successful

Verification code preference

PRODA uses 2-factor authentication when logging in. Once your documents have been successfully verified you need

to choose the method by which the PRODA system sends you automated messages in the future.

The methods are:

email,

mobile phone app,

mobile phone SMS.

Accessing Business Hub

Once you have completed the process you will be able to access Business Hub. If:

You are an Associate or Authorised Person that needs to apply for a service in Business Hub, please

download our Registering your organisation for Business Hub user guide.

You work on behalf of a business that is using services in Business Hub, speak to your business’ Access

Manager. They will be able to link you to the business in Business Hub. You will need to give them your RA

number you received as part of your PRODA registration. You will not be able to use any services in Business

Hub until your business has added you.

You are an existing Centrelink Business Online Services user, and have been asked to transition to Business

Hub by running the Register for Business Hub workflow from your CBOS homeapage, you must do so first

before entering Business Hub. You will need your RA number.

To access the Business Hub, select the Business Hub tile from your PRODA Services page. You can also go directly

into Business Hub here.
