SOUTHWEST

The tribes were located at northeast Arizona and the four corners. The climate is hot and dry. The tribes lived in a desert.

HOPIS

Hopi mean the “peaceful ones”.

What Hopis eat?

When you are a Hopi you eat ; corn , beans, and squash. The men job is they have to grow the food. The women bake the bread. Then they eat their food that they eat.

How the Hopis live?

Hopis stay in the homes from bad weather. The Hopis sleep in together in the same room , like mom , dad , and the kids. Their shelter is for mainly for sleeping. The women go up and down the ladders. When the Hopis wake up they hang up their beddings. Their villages are made on high flat mesas. Hopis have outdoors ovens , kitchens , and rooms.

Culture

Hopis taught their children the names and powers of Kachina by giving them kachina figure. That is their culture.

Hogan is a cones shape house built by covering a log of frame. Shamon is called upon gods to live people special favors.

Shelter

How Navajos make their shelter is by using ; brushwood, grass, mud ,cone shape, leaves, animal skin . What they do around their home is sit around all day their home.

What they eat ?

Navajos eat; corn, beans, squash. That is the kind of food they eat .

What they wear?

Navajos wear cotton for their clothing. The men grow the cotton . That is the type of clothing they wear.

What is their culture?

The ceremonies led by religious leader healer called shaman. Gods can be evil or good. They believe in gods holly people. That is what their culture is.
