Kickoff at Paul Brown Stadium is set for 1 p.m. The two teams are sepa- rated by a little more than 100 miles down Interstate 74 and the Colts have had much success on the road, claiming an 8-2 record in games played at Cincinnati. Indi- anapolis holds an impressive 17- 8 all-time series advantage over the Bengals, which includes wins in the last seven regular season games dat- ing back to 1998. The Colts were defeated in a third straight game by a one- score margin with a 28-24 loss against Kansas City to fall to 0-5 on the year. Curtis Painter threw for 277 yards and two touchdowns while wide receiver Pierre Garcon led the team for the second consecutive week with five receptions for 125 yards and two scores. The Cincinnati Bengals won its second straight game with a 30-20 victory over Jack- sonville to improve to 3-2 on the season. Wide receiver A.J. Green led the Bengals with 90 yards and one score. In three games this season (twostarts), quarterback CurtisPainter has completed 33-of-68passes for 618 yards, fourtouchdowns and no intercep-tions for a 100.0 quarterbackrating. The Indianapolis Colts opened the regular season with a 34-7 lossto the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium. It was all Houston mostof the way, with the Texans totaling 384 yards of total offense.Quarterback Matt Schaub completed 17-of-24 passing attemptsfor 220 yards, one touchdown and a passer rating of 78.5. Run-ning back Ben Tate added 116 rushing yards and one touchdownon 24 carries while Jacoby Jones brought back a punt for a 79-yard touchdown. The Colts lone score came on a six-yard touch-down pass from Kerry Collins to Reggie Wayne. With his 197passing yards, Collins surpassed Joe Montana (40,551) for 10thplace on the league’s all-time passing yardage list. The Indianapolis Colts lost its home opener by a 27-19 marginagainst the Cleveland Browns at Lucas Oil Stadium. Kicker AdamVinatieri split the uprights on all four field goal attempts, includinga 52-yarder, however two touchdowns from Browns running backPeyton Hillis made the difference as Cleveland tallied 13 points inthe fourth quarter. Quarterback Kerry Collins completed 19 passesfor 191 yards and one touchdown while wide receiver ReggieWayne paced the team with four catches for 66 yards. The Indianapolis Colts lost their third game of the season by a 23-20 margin to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts defense totaledthree turnovers, including a 47-yard fumble recovery for a touch-down by defensive end Jamaal Anderson and finished the gameplus-two in turnover margin. Indianapolis’ defense also held theSteelers to 67 rushing yards on 28 carries (2.4 avg.). The Coltsheld a 13-10 halftime lead on Anderson’s touchdown and two fieldgoals from Adam Vinatieri. Following a scoreless third quarter,Pittsburgh added a field goal and a Troy Polamalu fumble recov-ery for a touchdown to take a 20-13 lead. Quarterback CurtisPainter entered the game for an injured Kerry Collins and engi-neered an 80-yard drive which culminated into a Joseph Addaisix-yard touchdown run to tie the game. The Indianapolis Colts lost their Monday Night Football match-upto the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-17, at Raymond James Sta-dium. The Colts offense was led by quarterback Curtis Painter,who in his first career start set career highs in yards (281), touch-downs (two) and passer rating (99.4). He also connected withwide receiver Pierre Garcon for the fifth-longest pass in team his-tory (87 yards) in the second quarter. Indianapolis jumped out toa 10-0 lead which was eventually matched by the Buccaneers inthe third quarter. Painter found Garcon for their second touchdownconnection of the game (59 yards) to take a 17-10 lead, but TampaBay rallied with 14 unanswered points to seal the victory. The Indianapolis Colts lost their fifth game of the season, 28-24to the Kansas City Chiefs at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts re-ceived a solid performance from quarterback Curtis Painter, whoin his second career start, completed 15-of-27 passing attemptsfor 277 yards, two touchdowns and a 115.8 passer rating. Bothtouchdowns were thrown to wide receiver Pierre Garcon, who fin-ished the day with five catches for 125 yards (25.0 avg.). The Coltsjumped out to a 24-7 lead in the second quarter, but their offensesputtered in the second half as the Chiefs rallied to score threeunanswered touchdowns to seal the win.
