Perth’s natural and cultural

meeting placeYanchep National Park

Experience a true Aussie environment in a beautiful national park.Whether you‘re looking for a day trip near Perth or a quick stop on your journey to the Pinnacles or further north, Yanchep National Park offers a variety of experiences just 45 minutes north of Perth city.

See Australian plants and animals, including kangaroos and koalas, in a natural setting. Immerse yourself in a range of exciting tours, Aboriginal culture, heritage-listed buildings, limestone caves, wildflowers (when in season) and wetlands. Bring the family and cook up your favourite meal on one of our free gas barbecues or let someone else serve you at Chocolate Drops tearooms or the historic Yanchep Inn (with lakeview beer garden). Then stretch your legs on one of our nine walk trails, or take a swing on our nine-hole golf course.

Visit McNess House Visitor Centre for tour information and bookings, and see a stunning range of Australian gifts and handicrafts.

For a completely unique experience, why not book your special occasion at Cabaret Cave – Australia’s only purpose-modified function cave for hire.

Or take advantage of Yanchep Inn’s new accommodation and get an after-dark view of some of Australia’s amazing fauna. Your only distraction from the breathtaking sunsets over Loch McNess will be the countless kangaroos and waterbirds.

Aboriginal Cultural ExperienceEnjoy an entertaining and informative 45-minute session that will immerse you in local Noongar culture. Learn about the world’s oldest living culture, experience didgeridoo playing, spear throwing and find out the significance of our plants and animals to the original custodians of this area. With our entertaining Aboriginal guide, you’ll be sure to learn, laugh and be enriched by the experience.

Aboriginal Cultural Experience is available each Saturday, Sunday and public holidays at 2pm and 3pm (subject to availability).

Crystal CaveSee Perth’s only tourist cave and experience an underground wonderland full of natural cave decorations such as stalagmites, helictites, columns and shawls. During the 45-minute guided walk you will discover the cave’s history, geology and the ecosystem that lies within. Crystal Cave is open every day for tours at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
